Since I ranted about the dinner I had with my father last Sunday.. I felt it only fair to post about the good lunch we had today.
We went to his favorite Chinese place. I wanted to pay to make it up to him for how I behaved, but he insisted.
I explained to him that I was really upset when he brought up about that guy Marvin asking about me, because of how Marvin behaved to me all these years, and my father said he wont anymore.
He does want me to be more pro active socially, and he doesn't like my friend Barney at all. I agree about this, and I know its in my hands.
As for work.. I asked my dad for his opinion, and he told me that he feels I should stay with Aflac, and try to build it. He said the only reason why he brought up the other company I want to start, is because he sensed I wanted an alternative.. due to some of the frustration I feel, from the limitations Aflac puts on me. My dad said that starting a new, small independent company in this economy is very difficult. I see his point.
I know that I worked so hard to have this insurance license, I just have to keep working at Aflac, even in spite of my frustration with the limitations they put on me as far as what kind of client I can sign. Hopefully, working at it, and persistence, will pay off, and I will get a few breaks too.
