We arrived at the hotel, and our host dropped us off at the far end of the parking lot. Still sweaty and sore of foot I trudged towards the front door. Kered and Pokey were the first to greet me. It had been a long day, and I'm afraid I came across as rather brusque.
Checking in, I was less then pleased to discover my luggage had not yet been delivered to the hotel. I had a garment bag with clean shirts and pants but no underwear, socks, or even a toothbrush. A shower revived me somewhat, and I returned to the lobby.
I have never been greeted with so much warmth by so many people in my life, all of whom I was meeting in person for the first time. Kered gave me a ride to K-Mart, where I was able to purchase some much needed supplies.
Returning to the hotel, I called US Air. Now, it seems my bag had been found and it would be delivered later that day. Okay, fine.
An evening of dinner, drinks at the hotel bar and getting to know people followed. I was advised my bag had arrived, and went to the front desk. A bag had been delivered, but it was not mine. I still wonder if the owner ever got it back.
It had been a long day, and I turned in pretty early.
