As most of you know, I'm an extreme introvert. I have a hard time with strangers. I'm a quiet person, usually a wallflower.
In the past year, my friend Jackie has been inviting me to hang out so I've been getting out more, usually hanging with her and friends at the bar. I've made progress of getting out of my shell more, gaining more confidence when I chat with people.
Last night we went out to the bar for karaoke. At the beginning we sat at the bar because our regular table was taken, but near the end, the people who were at our table left so we immediately moved to it. Only one person out of the group that had the table before us remained so we included him in our group.
He was there in town from Washington visiting family for Thanksgiving. We chatted with him, but, when everyone but him and I went outside to smoke, I got closer to him. He was cute and friendly so I tried my best to carry on a conversation. I guess to everyone it was obvious by his body language that he was interested in me and I was definitely interested him.
At the end of the night, I was encouraged by my friends to get his number. He was chatting with Jackie's sister so I patiently waited for an opening. Little Jon came up and tried to help me get his notice. Anyway after he and Sabrina finished talking, I told him that I liked him, but he kindly turned me down by mentioning that he had a girlfriend. I was so disappointed. 🙁
I know he was interested me; it was obvious to everyone. Jackie noticed, Little Jon noticed, even the bartender Joey thought so.
As much as it sucks (royally) that he has a girlfriend, I'm glad I took a chance. I would have felt worse if I hadn't.
