I use to visit the old chatroom. It could be fun at times but it seemed that just a few people were actually using it to communicate while the majority were just seeming to sit there and stare at the screen. I never understood why people did that. Just watch the screen for sometimes hours and have nothing to say. Granted there were the occasional trolls but if ignored they would go away in time.
Now we have the new chatroom with audio and video capabilities. A wonderful place to actually hear and see the members talking with each other. A great idea. So why do the majority still sit and watch with nothing to say? Those people who take advantage of it have a good time and are making friendships, widening their base of people they are getting to know. You can hear the inflections of their voices and see the faces as they talk. And have fun as well. There still are trolls but you have things to help you with them such as a blocking feature. Neither those who go there a lot nor the trolls who wander there can harm you. I urge those who want to participate to do so. You may say that you don't know anyone and would feel strange just joining in with an opinion. Well, that feeling does not last long after you get in the conversation. The Gods and Monsters become people, just like you, and while you drive the monsters away you can also become equals with those who you may be hesitant to talk with...for whatever reason. We are all just people so don't be afraid to get in there and maybe make a few friends.
