With all that I'm going to miss about Lancaster when I move... My wonderful newscaster from Philadelphia, the reasonable cost of living, the resturants.. etc.. there is one thing I'm not going to miss.. the frequent power failures.
Tonight, as has happened many times in the past during the thirteen years I'm living here.. we had severe storms come through, which knocked out my power. Even with the AC on in the daytime, the heat bakes into my apartment, making the place completely unbearable without AC. I had to call my assistant for the 2nd time today, to get me out of here. I ended up at the diner, eating the worst chicken fingers known to man, and then at the mall, having a decent strawberry and vanilla custard. By the time I got home at 9, the power was back on. There are more storms forecast for later tonight.
When I lived in NJ, NY, and CT, the only time the power went out, was during a hurricane, or widespread blackout. Here it happens often, for long durations. While I will miss many things about Lancaster when I move, the power failures wont be one of them..
