Ugh. What a past 24 hours this has been.
I had an appointment for "blood work" yesterday, with my favorite person, the internist.
On Tuesday, his office called me, and the nurse practitioner clearly told me. "Mister C, this is blood work, do not eat or drink"
Fine.
I had been there in late March, and had to cancel a couple of times due to the seven falls I've had since then.
I went there yesterday. My internist might have the worst demeanor of any Doctor I've ever known.
First he said. "This is another "Follow-up" visit.
I said. "Doctor B, we discussed that the next visit, which is today, was blood work,. Your office called me yesterday, and clearly told me not to eat or drink. I have no food or water in me."
It got worse.
The internist then asked me why I have the cane that I've been walking with since the falls.
I said. "Doctor B, I've had seven falls and my Botox shot since the last time I was here. My headache Doctor and I agreed that I should get a cane for balance."
Instead of the internist saying. "Mitch, I'm sorry to hear that. Please just listen to your headache Doctor about your falls, come here, and we will do what we have to with your internal and your meds"
This SOB said to me, in a nasty tone of voice.
"You have serious health issues, and you don;t take care of yourself"
Ah. How the Hell dont I "take care of myself?"
I take all of my meds, get Botox shots every two to three months for migraines, have not one but two neurologists to deal separately with the headaches, migraines, seizures, dizzy spells, and shots!
I walked out of this "Doctor's" office resolving that the next visit to get the results of my blood work, will be my last with this guy, and I "Will" find another internist, come Hell or high water.,
I was trying to stay calm, and when I got home yesterday, after a healthy long walk with my cane from the border of the next town, had the pleasure of having "The uncontrollable shakes" and dropping most of my calming meds on the floor!
I will calm down, wait until the results, get them, and then just deal with it!
grrrrr!
