Why is it that whenever something terrible happens to someone, and that person posts about it on Facebook (which is a separate pet peeve of mind), everyone under the sun seems to feel compelled to mention that they're "praying" for them? Even people that I know for a FACT are not religious claim to be praying.
Look, sympathy is a wonderful thing. Sending good thoughts or well wishes to someone in crisis is honorable and kind, and I'm all for that. But why must some people say they're praying, even when they're not?
