More damaging: "Personal Issues" or. "Vicious Attacks"
Forum member is having a hard time. A family member, friend, etc, is giving them a difficult time. They post about this. The members of the forum have two civilized choices, either to offer support and sound advice, or to ignore the post, and not reply.
A personal thread does not damage the forum in any way.
The third choice, a vicious attack, is uncivilzed for not only the person who posted, but the forum as a whole, and is supposedly a violation of the "Golden Rule" that is supposed to exist. .
coldneck posts true sewer rat diatribe and wishes The following are his words.
"You will be bankrupt"
"You will be homeless"
"Its only a matter of time before your father and you are estranged".
Such malvolemt wishes are not a "violation of the great "Golden Rule", because they are judged to be his "valid opinion", even though in reality they are a blatant form of the most uncivilized behavior.
I'm told to let the thread die, yet another thread is created, by another of the people who have been most uncivilized to me, Brighteyes1082. She in turn proceeded tto scold me like a child, telling me that "I am a child", She is the maven on psychological behavior, and such is still not considered a personal attack.
No matter how much I say the thread I posted about my friend was wrong.... no matter how much I apologize.. the attacks continue.
Everyone in my personal life, who knows about my membership on this forum, my aunts, and friends, have told me to cut bait, give it up, and leave the forum, and that this abuse is far more damaging than anything I get from this forum, and in their opinion, than any support I rreceived during my mom's illness and death.
Yet, I remember the good times. The friends I made. (In spite of my attack dog coldneck's assertion that I have no friends. I know that I still share common interests with people on this forum.
Relationships go through rough times. It doesnt seem right to bail just because things are rough right now.
I'm told to move on. Yet, no one seemed to tell anyone else that. The thread that caused all this crap is still on the first page after a month, and inspired another thread that the genius Brighteyes said was caused by that thread,.
I personally think everyone should move on, and let both threads die, and we should all practice what is realistic on this forum., Those who are my friends talk to me. Those who are not, ignore me.
Seriously, when is "Enough, Enough". The replies to the initial thread that caused this crap, and the thread that followed it, are far worse than the thread itself.
