I met someone the other day through FetLife who introduced herself to the community as a very experienced tickler in the Washington, D.C. area. After a welcome note, I offered to chat (as I usually do with those I meet) if she would like. She sent me a note a week later saying that she'd love to chat.
She had a Gchat and AIM account, so we eventually found each other on AIM.
Within the first minute of our chat she asked if I was interested in swapping photos.
Sure, I said. We traded e-mail addresses and I sent her a head shot.
Nothing came back.
I'm pretty patient, so I just kept chatting. After a few minutes she said "brb" and went away...
... then ten minutes later, signed off. For the rest of the night.
Hmm.
We made contact a couple days later. Playfully somewhere in the middle I asked "u gonna send me a picture to complete the trade?"
"Yeeeah," came the answer. But no photo. Throughout the conversation there were long stretches of non-response. Bad connection? Didn't seem like it. And I've received photos before via e-mail.
Another chat a few nights later. This time I didn't bother to ask about the photo. In fact, the entire conversation consisted of her saying "how goes." Then silence.
I'm thinking that there's more here than meets the eye. And I think that the next time someone asks about trading pictures, they're going first...
