It seems like it has been quite a long time since I posted on my blog and updated anything 🙂
A lot of things, very POSITIVE things have been occurring since I last posted.
First of all I have moved into a new apartment that I absolutely love. One of my best friends lives on the floor below me, the area is much safer, and it is a lot quieter than my old place.
Work has been going surprisingly well too. Our big semi-annual sale was this past month and it's almost as busy in the store each day as it is in December. Then again when things are knocked down in price by 50-90% off the wolves shall descend. <---that is a lion not a wolf, HAH!
My sweet SWEET little niece, who I love to pieces, turned two in June. I just feel very blessed to have her in my life and I definitely want to be her "cool" aunt 😉
My sister is also doing VERY well. I swear everything the doctor said was going to happen to her...well it hasn't happened. I don't want to jinx anything [and knock on wood times infinity] BUT she has never looked better in my opinion.
Before she ever got sick with cancer she used to pick at her food, not sleep well, and would lose and gain weight constantly depending on her stress levels.
My sister now eats like a horse [for her it's a positive thing, I had never SEEN her so skinny as I did back in April when she was first diagnosed and really sick...] She has gained about twelve pounds since she started chemo treatments and now craves things she never wanted before like fish. Before chemo my sister would only eat a fish fillet from McDonalds and considered that a true piece of fish. Now she craves tuna and salmon steak like crazy 🙂.
She also hasn't lost all her hair. She still has a full head of thick hair. She loses a few bits and pieces of hair, here and there, but she has no bald patches or thinning areas on her head at all. I swear it's a miracle
She also sleeps and breathes better than she ever has before. She no longer has bags under her eyes or such a gaunt, exhausted look to her face.
So everything the doctor said would happen: weight loss, hair loss, stomach aches, sleepless nights, weakness, etc....NONE of those things have happened to my sister. She acts like her totally normal self and continues to get better. She still has about two and a half months of chemo left...but I know she is going to be fine and completely beat this thing
I myself am headed to the beach in North Carolina with my sister and family for a week this Sunday. I cannot even remember the last time I was at the beach for the 4th of July. I think I was maybe 7 or 8 years old. I managed to get off work and am SO excited!
So thank you for reading my blog update.
This summer has truly been wonderful.
My family and friends are all doing so well.
I have even managed to have a few tickle sessions since NEST [shock!] haha 🙂
So take care and I will post again soon!
Happy Fourth of July!
