at this point, I am in position to start my preparation for NEST. I have finished all of my classwork, and I only have exams left. exams are exams, however, so they will take a little bit of time. in the big picture, however, no matter how well or how bad I do on any of these exams, I am still going to graduate. so I am not putting that much emphasis on them.
The number one thing that I need to take care of is laundry. at this point, I would have no clean or presentable clothes to take to NEST, so I'd just look like a hobo. Once my laundry is done, I'll need to make sure that all of my affairs are in order.
obviously the most pressing are my exams, but I am getting all of the out of the way on Tues, Wed. and Thurs. after that, the only scholastic event I have to worry about is the actual commencement ceremony, which doesn't happen until the 8th. so after my exams I am good to go!
I have my cover stories for my professors, and tomorrow I have told everyone else not related to school about the trip that I am taking with my adviser, known affectionately as "the Chief." me and the Chief are headed up to Philadelphia for a Criminal Justice conference, and we aren't coming back until he fourth of May, which is two days before my parents fly into town to watch me graduate.
It still seems so amazing to me that this is going to end up working out for me. It would seem that as soon as I paid my $85 fee for NEST, that there would be some sort of obstacle that I couldn't overcome to get there.
but I had a great reason to really put the effort in to get there. I have a friend who I promised that I would take to NEST, and there is no way that I could break it. I am going out of my way to make it happen, but it really is all worth it! there is no other combination of factors that could have gotten me so pumped to participate this year. I am so thankful that I met and talked with as many people this year, and I am ready to reap the benefits! four days until I am off!
oh yeah, everybody better make sure they welcome Ru to the country!
