Well, it's been a long time. This has turned out to be one of the busiest summers I've had in a long time. It seems like there's been something big on my schedule every week, but hey I'm not complaining. =D
Oh wow, it seems that a lot has happened since the Chicago Pride Parade. I got registered for my classes at IU back in early July. It was nice because I really got to visit the entire campus, including the LGBT office! The house where the office is even has its own LGBT library! *__* Heaven. Oh gosh, I'm gettin' really excited! I have less than three weeks until move-in day (August 20) and I still have to get my laptop prepped, buy a few more things I need for my dorm, and get packed. I just really hope I get to meet lots of fun and interesting people and that I'll make a good impression. I really have high hopes for this place, I guess. 🙂 I feel like I'm opening up another chapter in my life and it is a great feeling to have!
But yeah, besides the transfer student orientation I also went to a "celebrity dinner" in which a few local politicians were in attendance. OH, and just last weekend I went to this gay prom in Louisville (on U of L's campus). 😀 I love the city of Louisville and that day was just another reminder of that love. It was my 2nd gay prom and this one was a much better experience for me than my 1st one. For one thing, I actually DANCED! : I didn't think I could like dancing, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself that night. I even did some "dirty dancing" (aka grinding) with a few of my gay guy friends. There's probably some videos of me doing just that on my Facebook profile. O_O Let's see, we danced to Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance", a bunch of Michael Jackson songs, even Justin Bieber's "Baby". =D
Oh yeah. I also saw two musicals last month: "RENT" and "White Christmas". White Christmas was nice, of course...but RENT was even better! That was the first time I ever saw the show and all the actors were just BRILLIANT! : The guy that played Roger looked like Adam Lambert and the girl that played Mimi looked so f*ckin' hawt when she sang "Out Tonight". That voice, that hair, the leather...*__* And I totally shared a ninja lesbian moment with someone. See, after the show was over, the actors went out into the lobby to greet everyone and naturally, I gravitated to the "hot leather girl", telling her how awesome she was in the show and blah blah blah. And as I was standing around with my gay guy friend, this tall girl got in line to talk to the "hot leather girl" and under her breath I heard her say "Damn she is HOT". My gaydar rang loud and clear, so I made eye contact with this "ninja lesbian" and we both sort of giggled together. LOL! I found me a lezzie! >: D But my gaydar also went off a couple more times that day. I swear, RENT is like a lesbian magnet. 😵
But yeah, that's all that happened to me in the month of July. This week I'll be seeing "Inception" and then on Sunday I'll be leaving for the Chicago Market Days Festival! This is a make-up trip for not having air conditioning on that hellhole bus for the Pride Parade trip. So this one's FREEEE! : I can't freakin' wait! And on August 15th is my youth group's "Gay Day" at Holiday World. We'll be totally gayin' up the amusement park that day! >=D
I shall leave you with the funny and beautiful song, "Light My Candle" from the film version of RENT:

Roger and Mimi = my favorite fictional straight couple as of now!
And Rosario Dawson has an amazingly husky, yet beautiful voice!
Current Mood: enthralled
