Yeah so Friday after work I headed down to Marshall to where my boyfriend is and spent the night. Saturday after Dan got off of work, we headed towards a small town north of St. Cloud. He had been trying to get a hold of his ex, Luci, the mother of his oldest so he could plan something to celebrate Kaylee's birthday. Unfortunately he hadn't been able to, so we were kind of flying blind, hoping to find her at her last known residence.
Luckily we found them and we were able to spend some time with Kaylee. We gave her her gifts and watched her face light up with delight, especially at the Hannah Montana stuff. Kaylee's a HUUUUGE Hannah Montana fan. Reminds me of my teenybopper phrase and how I was a HUUUUGE NSYNC fan. Lol.
Saturday night we rented a motel room in St. Cloud. It was the cheapest place we could find considering how our budget, and I felt weird about it. I don't know, for some reason I find something sleazy about renting a motel room.
Sunday morning we left St. Cloud and headed towards Minneapolis. Dan's friend Julie is there with her baby son at the Children's Hospital. He's only a few months old and very sick. I'm not sure exactly what's wrong but the poor kid has been through a lot. 🙁
After we finished visiting with them, we decided to visit the Mall of America. The last time I was there I was a toddler so I don't remember it. Lol. It is freaking huge! And scary with people everywhere! I can't imagine taking my young kids to that place. I would be too scared that I would lose them amongst that crowd.
After awhile we made our way back to Willmar to get some of the orange Mt. Dew because they don't sell it in Marshall and it's Dan's dad's favorite pop. We stopped at Casey's to get a couple of drinks for the road when just as we were about to enter the store, my friend Tammy runs up to me and practically tackles me. I swear, my heart stopped for a second! 😱 Lol.
As we were talking to Tammy, this Brandon guy pulls up on his motorcycle. I didn't remember him, but Tammy reminded me that he was a groomsmen in Emily's wedding. Huh I didn't recognize him without his monkey suit. Lol. Anyhoo, we bullshitted for awhile outside Casey's then we made our way to SA and eventually to the Walmart parking lot. All the while we were trying to figure out what four broke 20-somethings could do on a Sunday night. 🙂
Eventually we dispersed and headed in different directions. For awhile I thought maybe Tammy had hit off with Brandon, because she could use a good man in her life who'll treat her right and love her boys, but alas it wasn't to be. Oh well.
Finally we made it back to Marshall but unfortunately I still had to drive back home and I was starting to deal with the onset of a migraine. I managed to make it just as jackhammers started to pound on my head. The long trip and the sun caught up with me and it was horrible. 🙁
It was a fun trip, but next time I'll be sure to have some Excedrin along so I'd be able to stop the migraine before it even begins. 🙂
