I cannot believe the utter stupidity of some companies in this day and age. I found out that going with AT&T w/ directtv would be much cheaper then the cable i currently have. So, i called up AT&T and they set me up for tv,phone and internet. Which i thought was great. Same services for considerably less money.
Guess what? I was completely wrong. First they were going to send me a modem via UPS in three days. After 4 i called and told them it never arrived. They checked on it and told me it was on the truck for delivery. Thinking it would arrive sometime later i thanked the person from AT&T and waited. It never showed so i called them again the next day.
This time the person i talked to said i should have gotten an e-mail with the tracking number. Which never happen. Even though they had my e-mail address. She gave me the tracking number. UPS's site told me it was delivered at 11:30 that morning. I never even SAW a UPS truck anywhere near my home. AT&T no longer requires signature, so they can't track my modem.
Not done there folks! AT&T told me a modem NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENT TO MY HOUSE IN THE FIRST PLACE. They only do that for self installs. Which i was not doing and was never going to do. Simple solution, they would have a new modem on the truck. So the next day comes and i wait from 12-4. Nobody shows up and it's 3:45 when the phone rings. It's AT&T! Calling to see how the appointment went. When i told them nobody ever showed up. They told me the tech wrote in the report that he ran wires and had "no access".
My blood was fucking boiling at this point in time. They said they could send someone today and have them call me first. Which at first i accepted. Later on last night i decided to call and cancel my order.
Today at 8:20am i get a call from the tech asking for directions to my place. I simply told him i cancelled the order and hung up.
I ask you this. On what planet is it normal to begin a job and NOT make ANY attempt at contacting the customer you are doing the job for?
