So I begin my new job @ 3:30 this afternoon and it goes til 11:30 tonight. It is definitely a step in the right direction for what I'm trying to do in my life (get married to the awesomest lady alive) and I'm nervous yet looking forward to it with enthusiasm and anticipation. What's not to like about a full-time, unionized job doing something that I've be'en doing for the last 5 years and enjoy doing. Even though it is a swing shift set-up, meaning I get to sleep in but lose out on evening activities, I get my weekends off which is fantastic. Once my probation period ends then my benefits kick in and everything begins to fall into place. The people I work with and my direct supervisor are all fantastic people who are down to earth, down to business and fun to talk with. All in all I can't wait to begin. Minor downside is having to bus into work from the outskirts (about an hour) but it's much better then paying upwards of $200 a month for parking, not including gas expenses.
I can't wait to start real life and get into my 3-11ish monotonous routine - getting out of one temporarily is easy, getting into one permanently when one hasn't done it before is difficult. Hoping for the best!
