Oh wow...what a weekend I have had.
Shall I elaborate? 😀
Well, for starters, I got to see the IU campus for the first time on Friday! I was so excited and on a roll downloading podcasts from germanpod101.com that I stayed up all night. xD I left out at about 6 in the morning and my dad is the one that drove the whole way. And let me tell you, it was very odd for me to going somewhere with my mom, dad, and brother...like the way it used to be 11 years ago. 😵
Anyway, I felt pretty miserable on the way there. 🙁 It was partly due to the greasy, crappy breakfast food from Hardee's that we ate along the way, partly due to lack of sleep, and partly from the motion sickness of the rocky country roads. So yeah, I mostly just chilled with iPod while staring out along the horizon in a hopeless attempt to stop the nausea.
But when we arrived at the campus, my nausea magically disappeared. 😀 And OMG what a beautiful campus IU has. : It has this natural vegetation all around it so it feels more like a park than a university. I do remember looking at this one particular plant specimen while on the walking tour and whispering under my breath, "Wow...that's one big bush". Gayest thing I said all day, I swear. XD But sadly, the walking tour pretty much sucked. For one thing, the dude that was leading the way was walking way too fast. 😱 And I didn't really get to see everything I wanted to...plus, he treated me like some stupid freshman. I may be a first year, but I have about 36 college credits!
And what I really hated about it was the fact that I got all hot and sweaty, which made my hair curl up. Grrr...my hair always gets curly when I'm hot and it can't be helped whatsoever. =(
And my dad was totally unprepared for the trip. It took about 20 minutes of driving around the campus to find the admissions office where the walking tour was starting. And afterwards we didn't do all that much...except check out the dorm I'll be staying at for the next 5 years! :
Ahhh....Collins. OH, but I won't tell you, I will show you through pictures (courtesy of my dear brother). ^__^
Wow...I look...um...differently abled in this picture. "Durr, i here four sum lerrnin' hyuk hyuk".
"OMG! I look fat! Better button this up! 😱 "
"Okay, I'll sit down so I don't look fat."
"Ohhh Collins, you are mighty fine."
"Mm....very fine."
"Let's get kinky, shall we?"
"Oh yeah, you like that, don't you?"
"I'm inside you, Collins...I'm INSIDE you! >:3 "
* * * * * * * *
So yeah, the trip back home was pretty rough. We stopped by at Subway so at least I had some decent sustenance in me for the road. But you wouldn't believe this...we nearly got caught in a fuckin' TORNADO! The wind and the rain was pounding on us so bad that we had to pull over and wait for it to settle. And the scary thing is that the tornado was somewhere off to the side of us when we pulled over. And before that it was so much fun taking the back roads to see all the Amish people. =(
So needless to say, I didn't much enjoy the roadtrip itself, but the highlight of the escapade was definitely seeing Collins. It was just so overwhelming to see it in real life when all I had seen of it previously was just from pics online...and it's just gorgeous. It very much reminds me of Hogwarts. In fact, that's one of its nicknames. 😀 And the two women inside the Main Quad were nice enough to take me up to one of the dorm rooms, so that gave me a better idea of where I'll be living for a good while. Ahhh, I can't wait! I'll be moving in on August 25th and there will be so many different events to go to! 8D I plan on talking to all 499 people in the dorm, too! >:3 From the articles about Collins, it's more like a separate village with unique, colorful people than a dorm and its supposedly the friendliest, most close-knit residential area in the whole university. It's also known as the scary "freak" dorm...but whatcha gonna do?
And yesterday I had a blast at youth group. We didn't really do much in the meeting, but afterwards we went to the movie theater together! 8D I saw "How to Train Your Dragon" with my mom and one of the lesbians there while my brother and a sweet little bisexual transgendered boy saw "Iron Man 2". The dragon movie was very cute and probably one of my favorite Dreamworks films. <3
The agenda for this week will be volunteer night at one of my local libraries where I'll get to help assemble 2,000 condom kits. O__O But there's free pizza at least. ^_^
Whoops, I haven't eaten all frickin' day! Better get goin'.
Current Mood: restless
