Without causing a stir..
I've spent this week looking for a position. Something paid, while I see what develops with the law firm.
I'm not leaving Aflac. I don't want to. I worked too hard to get that insurance license.
I've been applying to many things.
Christmas holiday retail wont work for me, because, one has to lift more than 50 lbs, and I have a bad neck and back, so that has to be out.
I'm applying to companies, with positions that have salary, and/or salary and commission.
The first two interviews, let's just say they didn't go so well.
I had two interviews scheduled today.
As most know, there is a nor easter with heavy rain, in my area today.
I had an interview scheduled this morning, at a payment service company, downtown, even further downtown then where Aflac is.
Due to the weather, I arranged for the cab company that takes me to the casino, last night, and allowed two hours to get to the interview.
Of course, my luck, this morning, there was a major accident near my apartment, and the cab was very late. I would have never made the interview on time. I emailed the lady. She wanted to reschedule it for the time I had the second interview, but I couldn't do that, so I asked about tomorrow, and haven't heard back.
Then this afternoon I had another interview, this one in midtown, so I was able to take the subway. I met briefly with a very nice guy. The job there is to sell Verizon to their customers, face to face, no cold calling. It is a three interview process, and if I don't hear back within 48 hrs, it means I didn't get a second interview. I was nervous, and stuttering a little. The ad said one could set their own hours, but then the gentleman who interviewed me, told me it would be noon to 8. That doesn't sound bad. I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn. I can still watch Jim Gardner at 11, and can go to bed late.
My gut tells me I didn't get the second interview.
I'm going to take the rest of tonight off, and keep trying.
If I could make things how I want.
I would love to see the law firm sign, so I could stay at Aflac, make some money from them.
Then, get another paid job, semi full time to full time, where I'm out in the field a lot, and just maybe.. can somehow recruit insurance customers through word of mouth.
We'll see what happens.
That's the latest.
