I'm thrilled that I pushed up the date of the shot two weeks from the originally planned date, and that it is now over.
Yesterday, as planned, I went to my headache Dr's office on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
I told the Dr, who I think is a fantastic man both professionally and personally, aboiut the shooting pains from my head to my toes, and about the pain in the back of my neck, near the base of the skull.,
The Dr said that all of the pain with the shooting pain from head to toes was migraines.
The Dr also told me that surprisingly, the pain in the back of the neck, "Could be a pinched nerve" He said if that continues, I will need an MRI.
Going home I had an absolutely wild trip
Going up was routine. The E train from Queens to 53rd and Lex, and the uptown 6 to the stop one block uptown and one block crosstown to the Dr's office.
Coming home, I learned something.
A train came that said "6" Okay, so I figured hop on it, and go back to 53 and Lex, and then back to the E train home.
It turns out that there are actually two "6" trains. A local , which is the one I usually take, and an Express 6, which I mistakenly hopped on yesterday, and which the closest stop it made to the station where I needed to go, was 59th and Lex. Thus, I got off at 59th and Lex, walked back six blocks to the other usual station at 53rd and Lex, got back on the E and came home.
The next shot is supposed to be in the first week of August,.
I feel somewhat better even after one day. The Dr said that it takes on average 10 days for the medicine to get into my system. I did have to take one pain pill last night, and another one this afternoon. Hopefully that will be few and far between , or not at all.
Glad to have it over with.
