So it's been about six months since I took the plunge and started to be more active on TMF. Not that I wasn't before, just not active when it came to making friends. Like a wallflower at a party, just watching others mingle and forge new friendships while doing nothing yourself.
Being active on TMF is two-fold: posting and talking to people. Both can be hard to do because you're nervous about what people will think of you, what impressions you'll make. Even in cyberspace you want people to like you, not hate you. Unless you're a troll then you don't care as long as you're getting the attention you crave. Lol. 😛
It can seem like a daunting task to become active, but we've all been in the same shoes. We've all been a little scared, a little unsure of how people will perceive us. Yet the rewards -- the friends you make -- are so worth it.
The past six months have been an amazing adventure for me. I've had lots of ups and some downs, but overall it's been an awesome ride. I've learned and grown a lot. I have also made so many wonderful friends that it boggles my mind. I feel incredibly lucky to have friends whom I can talk to and who've helped me put things in perspective no matter what it is that's bugging me.
I truly look forward to meeting each and every single friend I've made someday. I also look forward to attending my first gathering later this year. I have made no secret that I want to go to Bella's in November. Though it scares me, I will go. Even if I have to drag my ass there.
This place is more than a forum. It's a community. No... it's a family. We love, we fight, we get mad, we lean on each other, we care. Sometimes it doesn't seem like it, but it is. I am blessed to be a part of this crazy family.
The greatest rewards come from taking chances. So take them when they come.
