Christmas break was fairly good for the boy and we had very few rough times with him. We went to visit the inlaws in NY for the 2 days after Christmas and everyone had a ball.
Tracy's dad suggested we let him stay for a couple extra days to extend his time with the other kids so we agreed....
That was our first mistake. The first night the call came at about 11 pm and he was in full blown fit....
We managed to calm him down over the phone and the next day he had a blast with the kids going to the movies and out to dinner...
That night was worse than the first so I had to make the 3 hour trek up and back again the next day...
From then until new years was tough at best but we managed to keep a reign on things though we dreaded sending him back to school after the long break...
First day back, however, was epically awesome...the teachers thought we sent in a different kid...Day two was almost as good and we prayed that we had finally reached a turning point in the little guys life...
Yesterday was day 3 and he did quite well also...
Today was day 4 and he was rewarded for his great behavior by the school with the use of a laptop...
The only condition was that he had to first take notes on its proper use...
He of course said he wouldnt need to and refused...Which of course meant he couldnt use it...which of course set him off until they had to call 911 lest he hurt himself...
This led to him being taken to the emergency room where they couldnt get him to calm down at all..they gave him a sedative...it had no effect.....they gave him a differennt one and about a half hour later he finally passed out while restrained to a bed...
He has now been committed to the psych ward at the childrens hospital there...
He was till sleeping when we had to leave him and will wake up thinking we abandoned him...
This is one of the most devastating things a parent can go through and Tracy and I are beside ourselves at the moment, knowing this is for the best and selfishly wanting him to be home in his own bed with mom and dad protecting him...
So much for the New Year being better...
We cant get any lower than we are right now...
BUT...we have a lot of you out there as friends that make us smile and keep us going,so we will deal with this one day at a time and see where it takes us....
