OMG I just got back from my very first DRAG SHOW!! And lemme just say...wow. *__* It...was....AWESOME! For the first time since I identified as a lesbian, I felt like I really belonged in the gay community. I saw my people! 8D A lot of times being apart of this minority feels lonely, but this little outing has just served to remind me that I'm not the only lezbo in the world. lol But my gaydar broke. D: There were so many people there and I think most of them were straight, too. Either that or young lesbians have gotten more and more feminine. lol
But wow, the performers were so fun and energetic. They mostly sang and danced to some mainstream pop tunes like "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry and "Bad Rpmance" by Lady Gaga. One of them even sang "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from Disney's Cinderella. XD And there was this one drag king who dressed up in a fireman outfit and sang "Fire Burning" by Sean Kingston. God, she was so convincing. 😵 And there were a few kings who weren't even trying to pass as guys. They wore baggy clothes and all, but their beards were just drawn on their faces and their hair was still long and girly. XD They were pretty amazing when they performed "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys, as their choreography was just amazing. And I got to run up to the stage with my gay guy friend so we could tip each performer. ^^ Some of them were being flirtatious with the ones who gave tips, though. It was sooo hilarious. And they gave this bigass JAR of lube to the winner of the show.
But yeah, it was an excellent night and now I sorta feel like an "official" homo. 8D Yay. lol I will definitely attend more drag shows in the future...hopefully when I get to Collins at IU.
Tomorrow I'll be writing a one-page paper over the poem I've picked out for the dramatic reading I have to do on Wednesday. I'll be reading "Golden Retrievals" by Mark Doty (who happens to be a gay man...and no, I didn't choose it because of that lol).
OH, and I forgot to tell you. They were giving out free condoms and my brother actually picked up a whole box of them. O__O He wants to use them for his artwork. He's not even sexually active. He just thinks they're fascinating. lolololol
And the video I will be posting is the animated stand-up comedy of Lizzy The Lezzy. =D She sounds like a little Brit girl on helium.

I love you all and I hope to be more active on the boards and on Skype when I'm off for Christmas break. ^^
