So today I finally turned in my papers. I had one that was 15 pages and another that was 20 pages. These two papers were essentially the last thing I had to turn in before exams. I get about a week before my exams will begin which is nice because it gives me a couple days to relax. I do have to proctor some undergrad exams and grade them, but that will not be difficult at all. Hopefully I will start to get some more sleep at night. I finally slept through the night last night without getting up to throw up. I don't know if I'm just stressed or what but it was nice to get more than 6 hours of sleep this week.
I am starting to get excited about camp this summer. Each year since I had started college I have worked for a summer camp. It has always been a great experience because I like the outdoors and enjoy playing sports. It is great to know that I'm making an impact in the lives of kids. I will have a different job this year as they made me a supervisor over some of the counselors. It will pay more but there is more responsibility and I get fewer days off because I will be preparing for the next round of students on the days off. I also won't get to interact with the kids as much because there is more management in relation to the other counselors.
I think I am most excited that my roommates and I are moving out of our house at the end of the month. The past 8 or 9 months have been trying since a new neighbor moved in. She has called the cops on our house two times. Once it was because one of our dogs apparently "attacked" her. Since we keep our dogs in a fence I know it wasn't one of them and by attacked she means that the dog jumped at her playfully. The second time it was because one of my friends parked on the curb near her house when we were having some people over. Part of me feels bad for her because no one ever comes to visit her and she lives alone, but then another part of me feels like she deserves it because she is so rude to people. I will be glad to move out of this neighborhood. We are going to start renting a house that is closer to campus and much bigger but will only cost us $50 more in rent each month.
I think I'm also just looking forward to the fact that I get to go home for a couple of weeks in North Carolina before I start my summer job at the camp.
