Here I am again, TMF.
Nothing really happened in the past little while, aside from rehydrating myself. Didn't drink enough water over Bamburgh.
So, the question of why I'm writing right now is a pretty good one. Meh. Suppose I'm just bored, really.
Hm.
Another re-enactment coming up next weekend. Should be a laugh, got a lot of friends from Scotland coming down for it, including one who I haven't seen for a while. Me and him have this... thing, we hit each other with knives. Sign of affection. Totally. But yeah. I've been putting a LOT of time in recently, should be able to take him a lot more successfully than I have been before.
Normally it's about a 60:40 him:me win ratio... I'm hoping to take it to at least 50:50. Got a LOT of nasty tricks. Several new stances, a judo-style lock, and I'm a lot faster... yeah. Will definitely enjoy seeing how that goes 😛 Then got most of the people who were at the Bamburgh show, and a few more, one of which I haven't seen since... Febuary, I think? Something like that.
So, again, it looks to be a good crowd coming. Also of note, on the Saturday night there's an industrial/EBM night at Legends in Newcastle I'm considering trying to go to... really hope I can, haven't been yet and it looks pretty cool.
And then on Monday, someone else I know is coming off blood thinners meaning he can once again drink alcohol.
His first drink may well be absinthe.
Should be interesting, to say the least.
Added bonus, currently doing a bit of commissioned leatherwork for somewhere - making three sheaths, being paid between £30 and £40. Decent money for fairly easy work, though material cost is included in that. I mean, I can make the sheaths for the knives while watching TV, and the complicated curved thingy can be done in the same way - just a matter of getting the pattern done right.
So, well, yeah. Things are looking up a bit in terms of money and things.
Oh, and finally - turns out someone I thought was avoiding me really isn't, we should be meeting up next week, hopefully. Will be pretty cool.
