maybe you don't care, but if you do, then here it comes.
today I went to the basketball court to play with three of my friends. I am only 5'8, and I was the tallest one there. only three of us ever played basketball before, and only two of us that have played are guys. hey, I'm just saying that guys typically play differently.
so we were just going to play 21 at first, but one of my friends said let's go challenge those four guys over there. at first I didn't want to, but he convinced me. mostly because these guys were good, and two of them were about 6'1 or 6'2. but two of them were our size, and one of them, let's just say he wouldn't be very fast.
anyway he goes over to challenge them and they accept and mosey their way over to us. maybe they didn't realize that from across the gym that the player who looked like the girl was a girl. maybe they were just pricks. but basically one of the guys our size actually drove to the lane and tried. the other one wasn't much. but both of the tall guys didn't even try! I heard one of them say that it was because they were playing against a girl that they weren't trying! and she scored 4 points on them!
it was the most miserable game of basketball that I have ever played. and we WON. that's the worst part. playing against people that don't care is just as bad as a sore loser. we won the game, I had a good shooting night, and we got in some much needed exercise. but come on guys, can't you put your pride aside and actually try?
this is probably the closest I'll ever get to a rant.
