I think of the COVID 19 precautions like Seatbelts in one sense....
Am I annoyed they're mandated? Sure, but I don't feel like becoming Roadkill
so I usually wear one, whether or not it's law.
I'm not immature & spiteful; I won't refuse to wear one JUST because someone else is ordering me to do so.
I'll do it simply because I know it's the smart thing to do.
You wear a seatbelt, right, because it makes sense? You're not a wuss; you wear it and you avoid becoming Hamburger, very simple.
(Those who don't wear one may rocket through the windshield, hit the pavement at 35-80+ mph... the vehicle may follow.... AND THEY'LL become Ground Beef either way. Not smart... but they're "only" killing themselves.)
See Darwinism.

The difference NOW is -- (a mask, distancing and not gathering) are like wearing "Seatbelts" for EVERYONE ELSE around you.... SO much more at stake.
With a highly infectious virus that you're MUCH more likely to encounter than a car accident.
It's not just about protecting yourself,
it's about protecting everyone you care for
and any strangers you may later meet.
I can be a Selfish Immature Wuss also, but have enough self control.... I had COVID and may still have some immunity.
I'm also ******* asthmatic (so I was really lucky and yes it got quite bad)
--- and always wear a mask around others in public.
So I almost want to laugh at people who claim they have a "medical reason" not to wear a mask but are screaming bloody effing murder at the top of their apparently perfectly fine lungs at tired, underpaid employees,
spewing germs and not giving a crap who they may infect (if they're carriers, nobody knows...)
when they could at worst arrange to pick up their goods outside the store rather than being totally selfish assholes.
I TRY NOT to be a spoiled Ugly American,
whining about less than a year of partial inconveniences while hundreds of thousands die or are maimed around me during a global pandemic that's affected millions.
(Not even discussing the politics or horrendous economic impact -- if everyone had taken care, this could've been contained so much better --- and STILL CAN BE, until there's a vaccine available.... in just a few months.)
Our medical professionals & our military put up with far, far more deprivation and inconvenience on a daily basis...
(As does much of the world, actually...)
If you care about ANYONE else around you, please wear a mask (over the nose...), keep apart and just this ONE year (!!) geez...
Zoom the holidays please. Save a family member.
I don't want to read YOUR obituary either.
