I'm going to post this in my blog. It expresses just how I feel about some of the things that are allowed here
If there's one thing I hate, it's hypocrisy.
Jeff and Myriads preach, and post The Golden Rule.
The Golden Rule is posted as, and I quote "If You Don't Have Something Nice To Say, Don't Say Anything At All"
Supposedly, "Action" and "Bans According To Mod Judgement", will be taken, under this "Golden Rule":
Yet, if someone mentions an unfortunate incident, like a job or position that didn't work out.. other people with a long history of attacking, uncivilized behavior against the person that posted the unfortunate incident.,. have carte blanche to attack, abuse, taunt, and belittle that person, with it not being considered an "attack" under the supposed "Golden Rule".
The theme is the same all the time, from the same people.
Mairead: "Mitchell lives in his $2000 a month apartment off Daddy. You whine, and no one has sympathy for you, no matter what happens". : She says
Real civilized behavior on her part, constantly, that is allowed. . .
coldneck: "Mitchell lives off Daddy".. and in the case of the situation with Aflac.. "Insurance agents need not more than a HS education". He;s the maven of the world.., as if it isn't true that some of Mitch's co workers and supervisors are lawyers.
tickleyou: "You wouldn't be attacked if you didn't post your whole pathetic life story". I posted about a job not working out, after I had posted about getting it. What's pathetic about that? Unlike tickleyou and his uncivilized posts.. if he had been civilized to me through the years, and posted about being forced to leave his job, my reaction would have been "Sorry, hope you find another position soon". He couldn't do that. He had to attack, knowing it would be allowed.
What angers me most.. is the hypocrisy. as well as the abuse. Don't preach "The Golden Rule", and then allow this abuse to go on.
If I was diagnosed with terminal cancer, I wouldn't expect any of these people to say a word of support. I looked back over my threads when my mom was sick, and died.. and not one of the aforementioned people who have ripped me in the thread about leaving Aflac, and other threads, , posted one kind word when my mom was sick and died, , yet they attack if something unfortunate happens.
My theory: There should be a sign in the forum "Be careful what you post here, anything is allowed, and there will be no consequences if people post evil things".
With all that's gone on the last few weeks, between the law firm lying to Aflac and not signing, and then me being forced to leave Aflac, and now the abuse I'm receiving in that thread, that;'s being allowed, I'd love to take a long hiatus from the TMF as well.
That's a very difficult thing to do, with as long as I've been here, and some of the memories. I'm not going to stupidly post that I'm leaving the forum, like I did once or twice, and then end up staying.
What I have to do, is post nothing, good, or bad, and, when my life changes, begin to spend less time here, until maybe I can gradually phase it out completely after a time.
I've been here a long time, I do have some good memories of this forum, and did appreciate how some people supported me when my mom was sick and died, and how Jeff found me the link to my favorite news man in Philly.
Were it me: I would have had the following thoughts, even if I didn't particularly like the person.
", Mitch worked so hard to rebuild his life after his mother died, with passing the insurance license exam, and getting the job at Aflac, and then being told of this big account that didn't work out. Isnt that unfortunate".
No one, not at work, real life friends, or family, reacted with the abuse, and disgusting feedback that some of the aforementioned people did.
That's the problem of those people, not my problem. Their uncivilized behavior.
It also is the hypocrisy of the "Golden Rule". However, it IS a very emotionally traumatic thing, if a girl is asked tickling questions and foot questions on a foot and tickling forum. THAT is something that will get someone banned, and what I was almost banned for years ago. The vicious abuse of the people who attacked me in that thread, is not a bannable or take action offense by the mods, under the "Golden Rule".
