I was trying to analyze the deep root of what my father's real problem is, and I think I've figured it out.
I know there are mavens like Chicago who think "He's angry because he pays for his 44 year old son;'s apartment". That might be part of it,, but,.. I don't bother him on a consistent basis, so that's not all of it. He sees me for a few hours a month, and I'm not part of his day to day life. One aspect, could well be the root of his anger, and I am NOT saying this to make fun of my father, because I don't like him, but rather,. to analyze.
When my father was in his 40s and 50s, he tore both of his rotator cuffs, and had surgery by the then Yankee sports Dr. During the surgery on the second arm, he got an infection, and was permanently disabled. He cant do what many men his age do, who work or are retired or semi retired, and that is, play golf or tennis, so, he resorts to working all the time.
I truly think this is part of his problem, because, his rage and temper tantrums on a consistent basis, are just too regular.
While I can see his upset.. I don't think it justifies his vicious temper. Am I supposed to fly into a rage all the time because I'm not married, don't have a partner, or aren't having sex on a consistent basis? Life circumstances are what they are. I'm angry at those like my father who are abusive to me on a consistent basis, but I don't hold anger about other things like that.
