My aunt the artist is the ultimate hypocrite. Her behavior is just appalling.
I've been looking for contacts to sign up for work, by what is called "Canvassing", going around to businesses, and trying to get them to meet with us, to discuss "Employee Benefits".
My dad, and everyone else at work, know how hard I've been working to do this. ..
So.. while I don't want to count my chickens until they hatch.. my dad has graciously offered to help by having some of his contacts, listen to our presentation of employee benefits. He adamantly told me that he would not offer to help at all, if he didn't know how, in his words, "I've been busting my ass to try and find people to sign"
I have no doubt he means what he says. I was moved to tears by his offer, and, of course, have to keep looking for my own contacts, by the conventional way that I have.
I asked the guys at work whether it would be okay for us to talk to/potentially sign, contacts that my dad brings to us. They all said absolutely, that many agents start with what is known as "Warm contacts", from family and friends, as they are building their business.
My aunt.. has been blasting the idea of my dad discussing this with people at my work, saying that "It looks like Daddy is holding my hand.. and I'm not doing it myself." She claims that she is "Just giving me her opinion".
Why she;s the ultimate hypocrite is this: This is a woman, who took thousands in handouts from me, my mom, and my grandparents, with no conscience.
Her attitude is just appalling. What the hell does it matter whether I get my first clients through people my dad knows, or myself. In my view, it would be like him introducing me to a girl. The most important thing is.. my work is okay with it.
I cant believe what a witch my aunt can be sometimes.
For as much as I've complained about my dad on here through the years, the man's attitude toward me has completely changed since I started working in insurance. He';s been mega supportive.
My view. To hell with what my aunt thinks. . This is a woman who has attacked my mom, me, and everyone else, and has NEVER admitted she was wrong, or never admitted to hurting anyone., Whatever shortcomings I have, my dad has, or my mom had, we always admitted if we were hurtful to others.
If my mom were alive, she would be outraged by my aunt's attitude.
