I keep wondering what's stopping some technologically bright tickling mind from devising a map that allows you to indicate your home city.
It would look like a U.S. map, allow you to zoom in to your home region, and see who is close by. Maybe if you click on the name, then it links to their TMF profile.
The Personals section isn't bad, especially when someone starts a "roll call" or head count thread so that people can chime in. But might it be easier for those considering in-person relationships to be able to simply call up a city and see who's there?
It'd be opt-in, naturally, in the interest of privacy. If you're interested in being contacted, you'd put your name on there.
There are probably aspects I'm overlooking, things are rarely as simple as they seem. But a guy can still hope, right?
