Hey guys!
I know it's been a while since my blog about my first week at graduate school. However things are starting to fall into place. I am getting into a routine and the work is not as daunting.
As my professor told me I just had to learn how to read like people REALLY read in graduate school, LOL. Aka...skim the book, just get the main points, ideas, and thesis of it.
My jobs are keeping me super busy! Being a teaching assistant/graduate assistant to a professor is great! I actually get to do my own lecture for the class in 2 weeks.
The class I help with is World History 101: Beginning to 1500.
I am doing ancient Rome! So that will be great 🙂. I love Roman history and have been to Rome 3 times so I think I can do a pretty awesome job with it
And even if you don't like Roman history...you still have to admit that "Gladiator" is a kick ass movie...and Russell Crowe was delish in it
Anyway I haven't been on the forum for almost three weeks...that is because I am having internet problems at my new place. I actually got a plan for internet through Verizon wireless...but it was only for 5 GB of internet a month...after that it charged me .05 cents for ever MB that I went over my limit.
Well that got old REALLY fast (plus it was sixty bucks a months!)
Anyway I got another plan with Verizon landline (I didn't realize Verizon landline and Verizon wireless were 2 different companies).
Anyway I am getting unlimited wireless internet for only 34.95 which is not bad! I look forward to being able to get online again at my own leisure at my apartment.
Right now I have to bring my laptop to my university and use it in the library with the school's wireless. It's cool...it forces me to get work done and focus. Sure the internet is distracting but I don't have the distraction of my tv, books, music, etc...like I do at home.
Everything else in life is going great! My sister has moved and started graduate school about two hours from me and I am glad she is so close 😀
My niece is growing each day and with each day that she grows, the love I have for her grows with it
This Saturday would actually have been my grandmother's birthday. As many of you know my grandmother passed away back in May. I think about her on almost a daily basis, she was just the sweetest woman in the world and despite such a dire medical condition she still was so cheery and full of life and love. I miss her a lot but know she is in a better place now and no longer in pain, which is all I ever wanted <3.
