When am I gonna grow up?

“You’re too childish,”

“You need to take life more seriously,”

“When are you going to grow up?”

Hmm. When am I gonna grow up?

I like to finger paint. I love making a mess of it too.

I still color with crayons.

I cut my toast into fingers, and make shapes with my pancakes.

I watch Disney Pixar, and retro cartoons.
Wall.E
Batman.
Ninja turtles kicks ass.

I slept with a stuffed rabbit until the day before I turned 21.

I laugh hysterically when my son spits his food everywhere.

I think outside the box

I’m not afraid to do whatever.

I splash in puddles with no boots

I still make pictures out of my Smarties
and I eat the blue ones last because I can

I love Christmas
I dress up on Halloween
I hide eggs at Easter

I use words like “gonna” “dunno” and “whatcha”

I wear mismatched socks because I like it.


“You’re too childish,”

No, sir, I prefer to think of it as “child-like”

“You need to take life more seriously,”

No, sir, I think you take it serious enough for the both of us.

“When are you going to grow up?”

Well, sir, hopefully never.
