A positive blog entry.. I hope.
As most know, I've been busting my ass working to pass the insurance license exam. I find out tomorrow when the next exam date is. Before that, in addition to all this work, I will have a day long review class. the day before the exam, and a full length practice test on all the chapters I'm reading, all 20 of them.
As I'm preparing for this exam, I'm realizing that much of insurance has to do with law. I was intending to go to law school in the mid 90s, before everything got screwed up. So.. to this end.. after I pass the exam, get clients, and whatever job I might have to, to supplement myself, I'm going to look into either online or night law school to get my ,law degree.
For all I complain about him: My dad's attitude toward me has completely changed. He said what upset him the most was that I was not even trying to help myself. He';s consistent in that. When I was in school, if I brought home a bad or mediocre grade, he wouldn't go off on me if he knew I tried my best.
Jay, my instructor, repeatedly says that no one he knows passes the insurance exam the first time. I see why this is, when I take the practice tests. Some of the questions are worded horribly.
When I told my dad about doing online law school if possible, he was completely supportive.
Then, I think for myself.. if I can pull this off. Insurance agent, Lawyer.. maybe specializing in insurance law, and I'm still in my 40s. I could have another 30 good years to work, and build a nice career. My dad is going to be 73 a week from today, and he still works.
I'm six chapters from being finished with all 20 chapters. I'm averaging 1 to 2 a day. The only day I couldn't do anything, was the day I was kicked out of here for the water shutdown. I feel like I'm on a mission. Get this license, and then who knows what can be.
I'm still looking for "Jobs". Right now, I'm most focused on finishing this.
Hopefully, all this hard work will pay off.
