Typical "K" behavior, and why he is so GRRRR to get along with.
I go to bed very late. I went to bed early this morning at 1am, and there was no e-mail telling me to show up at the office this morning. So.. I figured it would be my usual day of prospecting for clients around my area. Little did I know.
I woke up at a bit later than my usual time today, a bit after 6am. It's a good thing I checked my e-mail immediately. I found an e-mail as a "forward" from K, which said "Team, there is a meeting at 915am, I expect everyone who is not at an appointment to be present".
I was livid. It's like.. You couldn't at least have given the courtesy of letting us know.. last night.
The office is an hour, and two subway rides, from here.
I got dressed, and managed to get to the office on time.
When the meeting started.. K launched into a rant about "Low turnout", as there were only three of us there, and saying "We were the only ones that wanted to learn".
Anyone who I told this to, said he should have given far more notice, especially for those of us who live an hour or more from the office.
I found out today that these meetings will be held every Monday at 9am until further notice. Fine. Now that I know.. I will be there.
I only miss meetings or work related events/seminars for two reasons. One, illness, or two,, extremely dangerous weather IE the major snow and ice storms we've had. Other than that, I'm there.
I have a seminar with Jay on Wednesday night.. However, he kindly gave us the courtesy of letting everyone know today. I have to be there at 5pm Wednesday, and will.
I'm not even going to go into what happened at the meeting. Work related things. I just hope that some of the things I'm working on, come to pass. I still like and respect Jay greatly. I love working with him, and his personality. He is one of the most positive people I've ever met, in work, or personal life.
K is another story. I want to succeed in this business, which is why I'm busting my ass to do so. However. K's demeanor is getting under my skin.
Even my dad, with his ways at times, thought K was discourteous to demand people show up for a meeting, by sending an email in the middle of the night, with no notice.
The most important thing is that I succeed in this business. As for K, I'm just going to have to view him.. as a co worker/etc, who is.. at best "Difficult" to deal with.
