I went to the casino today, and lost.. $6100..
Before anyone who reads this entry says "Has Mitch lost his mind?" Let me explain.
I didn't actually "Lose" $6100..but.. here is how it went.
I needed a break, from all the hell, that has going on lately.. so I went to the casino.
I played the slots.. etc, was ahead about $100 or so.
I went to the horses, and was doing my usual, using the racing form to bet horses.
When I bet horses using the form.. I also many times will bet a 1-3-6 trifecta box, my parents lucky numbers.
Today.. I had such bet at every track I was betting, because I was ahead.. except..
Thisledown. I don't know why I didn't bet it,. Either I forgot.. or.. the odds looked so outrageous, that I thought it would have no chance to come in.
Of course it came in, three horses.. at around.. 40 to 60 to 1 each. The 1-3-6 trifecta.,
The payoff.. $6100.
I yelled every curse at the TV, and left, before I actually started losing the money I had brought with me from home. .
My total "Loss" for the day, of my own money.,. a very serious hit. for me.. all of.. $20.
Then, of course, because I needed more torture, I went to the place Kristen works for lunch, and couldn't do anything about it again.
I cant go to the casino Friday because of the convention, and I've been advised not to go on Saturday because of the Belmont Stakes.
I'm thinking about going tomorrow.
Had I won the $6100, I would have been able to convince my dad to accept a nice Father's Day gift from me.
Two weeks from today.. I will know whether I have a good chance to sign a 100 man law firm.
