Why is it that the day which we give workers off in commemoration of workers uses the word 'labor'?
To me that really sounds like a pregnant women about to give birth.
The very definition of the word labor includes both pregnancy process and workers. So is having kids by definition a job?
One of the reasons animals exists is to breed future generations and stave off extinction. It is true that breeding is not the sole reason for existence.
I'm reminded that raising a child is a full time job, even if it's not a paid one. Child parental units have their days (mother/father day).
So I think instead of labor day it should be like nat'l PTO or just TO. It's easier to say and it sums up the holiday in a professional manner that focuses on the 'human' resource.
On two finishing notes, I think controlled prostitution should be legalized if childbirth is recognized profession and should that ever happen they be given a PTO/TO day.
If anybody has a problem with my logic, that's fine just go complain about it to the labor department
