Well, that's that, really. A-levels are over. Unless something goes wrong and I go back for more A levels, I am now officially a free man.
Free to get a job in a gap year before I head to uni at least.
Ah well. Taking a week off before I do anything, aside from get my room sorted, get drunk etc. Hell, got a double black russian next to me now 😛
(Two shots vodka, two shots tia maria, rest is coke, serve chilled.)
Anyway. English exam... eh, went OK. Could have gone better. First question was a bitch to answer. Second, not so bad. Still not great, but passable. Aiming for a C/B overall with it, B/A in Media, and god knows in IT; IT is the one I'm worried about to be honest. Was not the correct subject for me, but if I've screwed up, these things happen.
So, what's my plan now?
I have no exams, no coursework, no homework.
Was thinking lie low for a week, write a CV. Blanket bomb the city with it. Might get an interview, with the current economic climate I'll be lucky though. Tiny city. Not looking for anything flash, just some source of income.
Over the next three months then, aside from jobhunting - and hopefully working - I have three major things that I'll need to work into my life.
One. Driving lessons. Instructor nearby, he reckons he can get me passed by October.
Two. Start, and finish, chainmail shirt. This will be a long process. When finished, I will be a VERY happy man. This relates to the Viking stuff detailed in the first post in this blog.
Three. Also relates to Viking stuff. I need to get some serious axe-training in. Need to use it totally safely (which I'm OK with) and with a great deal of control (I can get by.) Only real problem I have is knowing my weapon - keep thinking the haft is about six inches to a foot longer than it is, and also general competence with short weapons. Only been doing them for six months.
Also need to get my room tidy and slightly rearrange it. Won't take long though... just moving a few bits of furniture for now.
So really, I have the next while of my life sorted 🙂
Anyway. Last entry, I said I might post something that made more sense, was less ranting and so on. Now that I don't have to be up early each morning and late each night, I can think about doing so... though really, nothing has come up recently, aside from deep personal belief stuff I'm not willing to rant about in the first few pages of a blog 😛
But anyway. I'm free. Done. Finished. Nothing else needs doing.
That concludes this entry, I think... going to go listen to Metallica for a while.
