We just say on the Earth. And by the World we mean the universe or just the entirety of everything.
I guess this tradition might come from religion, where God created the World, and it was supposed that no other planets existed.
It was actually surprising when I studied English, to find out that the English word “world” means just a planet, even not only our planet. No more surprising than the fact that you call football the game you play mostly with hands though
