Hey guys dont know wether this the right place to put this but everytime i log into the chat room i get a red x instead of the room. I have unistalled and reinstalled jave and still nothing. I did a tracert host5.digichat.com at i ended losing the connection. This the only version of java i have installed and it runs on neither i.e or firefox. Please help.

The problem is a bad java plug in.

Go to Sun.com download and install the newest java plug in that matches your system, then all will be well!

You're running a Windows machine I assume ? Windows XP ?
Do you have a firewall ?
Have you recently installed any new software besides Java ?
Do your Java installs finish with zero errors or overrides ?
Any "dirty" shutdowns on your machine recently ?
Is your machine "store-bought" or did you build it yourself.
Any problems with other websites or other applications on your machine ?

In answer to your questions
1. I am running windows xp
2. it doesnt work wether my firewall is on or off'
3. to my knowledge no apart from office 2003
4. no idea
5. nope
6. self built 2 years ago
7. nope only this chat room

I've seen this sort of problem once or twice before. It's some form of catching done on the ISP level. It blocks access to the room until the catch is cleared, most ISP's do this every week or two. Not much to be done then wait it out I fear. If you can connect to the web with an alternate ISP take a try and see if that works.

Hey guys sad to say that after some waiting i still cant access the chat room. I have noticed however in the bottom left hand corner it says Applet Digichat notinited. Any more ideas?

Did you try what Myriads suggested, Dowson?

The non initiated error comes up when there is an ISP blockage (operating behind a firewall, or if you are in collage, a schools firewall that you might not know about, they often block gaming and java aps, or your ISP just blows (AOL gets this error a ton)) or a problem with the browser itself on some level.

I'd suggest a fresh browser download of one you currently don't have. Then if that fails a fresh java plug for the new browser. If that fails then I'd say perhaps a new ISP connection. If you can try to log in from another persons system, thats an option. Just to see if it works there.

I'm sorry that you're having trouble with the room. It's frustraiting, and I hope we can solve it.

Ah! Can you enter a random Yahoo! chat room? Any will do. If you can then the Java is probably ok, if not thats where the issue is.

Myriads

Ok tried to access yahoo chats and they didnt work either. I have tried both Fire fox and internet explorer and neither work. Have uninstalled and reinstalled java at least 5 times and still it doesnt work. ARRRRGGHHHH what am i doing wrong?

OK, that NO chatroom works helps isolate the problem. It's something to do with your system. Most likely java related. You may have Java somehow turned off in prefrences somehow on some level. You may want to try a different plug in (Sun.com has many) or an entire new browser. (as in a fresh download.

Odds are there is a security feature of some sort on that messes with java though.
