While I agree that if you don't feel comfortable there you should no longer attend, keep in mind that if you got any type of loans be it through a government or otherwise, you will have to start paying back anywhere from 3-6 months after you stop being a full time student. That means having to get a job and pay back the loans, which would certainly interfere with your time off. My suggestion would be to switch to a community college and take classes that interest you, that way you see what else is out there and since you do have the intention of returning to school, you wouldn't have to deal with the burden of paying the loans back immediately. Community schools are fairly easy and that way you can explore your horizons and see if they have other art related stuff, or perhaps you will find that there are other careers that interest you. When I first came to college I knew that I wanted to get an education but was unsure as to what it was that I wanted to study, so i explored a little bit and chose classes that interested me which eventually helped me choose a major in something that I can see myself doing for the rest of my life. I actually considered going to an art school, as I loved art through out high school, but decided against it because it focused solely on that aspect and it would have kept me from exploring other interests of mine.
