First of Merry Christmas everyone!

Ok as a new found tickle-phile (?) and being desensitized to the world of tickling today, does the liking of tickling necessarily ensue it to be sexual?

I've grown to like being tickled and tickling people over the years, but unlike the pictures and Ads I've been greeted with in this forum I haven't entirely found tickling to be much of a sexual thing. On the other hand my fascination for it has been growing and it would seem that there is more to tickling than what i thought.

Tickling doesn't have to be anything, what you'll find here is lots and lots of people into all sorts of different variations of tickling, sexual, non sexual, feet, bondage, no bondage, the list goes on.

Personally tickling isn't always sexual to me, but also, my love for tickling does extend to my sex life in that I enjoy to do things I like when I have sex. A better way to understand what I mean is kissing, I like kissing, kissing isn't always sexual but when im having sex, kissing will have its very welcome place.

While a majority of people on the forum have a sexual connection to tickling, there are a fair number that enjoy it on other ways.

For some tickling is a tool that builds intimacy, as a form of contact. For others it's a form of playful interaction, which provides the same positive feelings as other interactive games and activities do. For others its a form of stress relief, they don't become aroused by it, but are relaxed by the experience as a cartharsis in total.

So there are many ways to make tickling a part of your life.

The base question to ask yourself is what aspect of the experience you enjoy or value in specific. It will be the thread that leads you into exactly how the behavior fits into your greater personality.

I've been a ticklephile since early childhood ( no idea of the actual origin of my liking of it - I just DO). For instance I never really like nude or too tortuous tickle vids - I much prefer fun-based non-nude scenarios.

Of course I have used playful tickling as a form of foreplay, but often I enjoy it ( both as 'ler' or 'lee') just for the fun and light stmnulation of it. So, really, if you don't see tickling as necessarily sexual I think thats a GOOD thing. Enjoy.

As for your picture, I concur fully with kcantankerous's comments - even though I had to look up that adjective in the dictionery!!! lol

its so refreshing to hear somebody who joined without any pre-conceived ideasn - and is open to share their 'confusion'.

I felt exactly the same when I joined - all this 'hardcore' porn-related tickling blew my mind ( and not in a good way!) On the rare occasions I joined the chat-room I found it full of people talking about sex and tickling as if its the same thing.

As a self-confessed 'newbie' to this I hope it won't put you off. Tickling is a very personal thing and it is what you make of it. And is certainly nice to 'meet' likeminded people.

The answer is....it's entirely all in how YOU look at tickling and feel about it.

Some people hate it, it's a huge turn off.
Some people like the playful aspect of it.
Some people REALLY like the playful aspect more than others - you probably fit into this category.
Some people are turned on by it sexually while enjoying the playful aspects.
Some people completely love tickling, and are so intuned to it, they can't have normal sex without some form of tickling involved.

You could view any fetish this way: I love nylons/pantyhose/stockings along with tickling.
If a girl walked in wearing pantyhose, some men wouldn't even notice, or merely as a visual reference - she has pantyhose on.
Some would find them attractive, but just because they look nice on a woman.
Some would find them sexy and professional.

...and I'm sure there are people who view them more extreme than I do - I CAN concentrate on other things and won't jump all over her, or find some "excuse" to feel her feet or start talking about stockings.
Some men can't and sometimes get in trouble, depending on how little control they have.

If I see a girl wearing leather pants, or a leather outfit....I'm flatlined - have zero attraction to leather.
Some men can't control themselves and will be asking the girl that I'm ignoring to marry them!

Anne Hathaway will be in Dark Knight Rises, in a leather Catwoman outfit. She's my favorite actress, extremely pretty - but her leather outfit will do NOTHING for me.

Sure, whatever floats their boat -- I think that more than anything, the Forum is a place where people can feel safe about expressing their particular proclivities without fear of being hurt, and that's important.

The line certainly can be thin. Tickling -- being able to make someone laugh involuntarily -- is one of a few human interactions that vividly embodies the dynamic of someone having power over someone else. In the simplest scenario I can think of, somebody who is already a little nervous and thrilled that they even have this weakness, could easily uncover an erotic pang the first time they imagine someone attractive using it on them.

I personally do wish that sexuality in general -- largely because of these facets -- was a more refined science. It is a little, but there's so much left that I'm sure I spend at least as much time wondering about it as enjoying it.
