Elizabeth Edwards has died.

I just heard this morning that the doctors had given up on treating her.

She was the wife of Presidential candidate John Edwards.

Heard about her farewell message on facebook yesterday. But, I was surprised to hear a few minutes ago that she'd passed so soon. As with my mom, I'm glad for her that she went before the bone cancer got too far along. May she rest in peace!

^I understood that the cancer had spread to her liver. On GMA this morning they said that her doctors had quit treating her.^

I was in the car, on the way home from my mom's cancer treatment in NJ, when I heard the news. It saddened me terribly. My mom is so upset, she didnt even want to talk about it. I guess when one is fighting cancer, and they hear another cancer patient dies, it's sobering.

Mrs Edwards was a woman with grace and class. She led a good life, yet had some cruel blows in life, with the death of her son, and then her husband's infidelity. In spite of that, she fought an incredibly courageous battle against her disease, for many years.

May she rest in peace.

She handled herself with the grace not seen since Jackie O; she was a better woman than I could've been in that situation. I hope what he did haunts him for the rest of his miserable life and that he never has a career in politics again.

But enough about his scummy arse, RIP Elizabeth--a true classy lady in my book.
