Do you ever check your friend's profile just to see what they're up to.
Or do you check it when you send them a PM to see if they're looking at their PMs.
If you replied to a person's reply on a thread do you check their profile to see if they're reading the thread.

If you do these things or something else to keep tabs on what people are up to, how often do you do so?

For the record, I do sometimes check to see if my friends are reading their PMs after I've sent them one. Now, how's bout you guys fess up. ;)

I assume the VBulletin functions that identify an individual as logged on and show their location within the forum were designed specifically to allow people to connect. If someone chooses not to utilize the built-in privacy functions, there should be no expectation of privacy. I find it difficult to equate using the forum software as it’s designed to stalking.

This same line of thought also extends to any internet activity. Unless someone is purposely attempting to circumvent specific privacy systems, all internet activity is considered public domain, with no expectation of privacy, and individuals should conduct themselves accordingly.

This is probably one of the most important concepts we should be getting across to our children, much more important than worrying if a porn sight ad pops up in front of them.

Of course you're right Tony. :)
Cyber-Stalking was just my joking way of asking how much people take advantage of that function of the forum. :D

WHEW! For a minute there I thought I was some kind of pervert or something! :ermm:

Ooops! … must … find … the … message … delete … function … now! :jester:

Funny actually.

That's how Ray and I became friends.

We stalked each other all through the forums. Then he caught on that I was and PMd me.. lol

Now, that's the sort cool story I was looking for people to tell in this thread. You rule Crystal. :D

Hmm, I wonder if that's why venray goes invisible sometimes...? Trying to shake his blonde shadow. :idunno: lol

I catch myself doing this every now and then. It has its benefits. Every now and then, I see someone looking at an interesting thread that I completely missed.

I only follow Venray to see what kind of trouble he is starting.

And to see if I can be of any help.:D

Most of the time, if I "cyber-stalk" anyone, it's people I think post interesting things / in interesting threads. So I'll see what they're up to in hopes of finding some engaging discussion.

If I'm trying to track someone down, and I'm in a hurry, I'll check their profile to see which thread they are in, so I can get their attention quicker and have a chat.

Apart from that I don't really care what other people are doing, nor do I care if they see me.

I mean its not as if anyone actually knows that we may actually like (whispers) 'tickling' or anything like that does it!!! :xpeepsofa :scared: :p

None. I had exactly two people on this forum whose profiles I've checked, on a consistent basis, in the last, say, year. One of them has left the forum, and as for the other one, they are a good friend, so occasionally I will check their profile to see if they are or were around recently. Beyond that, I dont. Years ago, I used to check more profiles, but over the past year or two, I just dont anymore. By the way, I know for a fact that both of these people check my profile as well, so the feeling is mutual, but as I said, one of them left the forum, so the number is down to one now.
