For a long time now, I've noticed numerous requests on this board for more Renfaire material, particularly Cannelli-type clips. I've finally decided that to share my collection and create a "One Stop Shop" of sorts here at Tickletheater.

The goal of this project is similar to that of the French Tickling Preview or Howard Stern threads in the Request section. Only this time, there will be a least two threads: One for the Splits section, another for the VidClip section. This will keep each thread from becoming longer than necessary and ensure posting in the appropriate venue. In addition, I'm limiting posts to only Italian Renfaire material. Sorry, but please don't ask me to post any American or FP style clips in either section. I feel that those requests may be best accommodated in separate threads.

Over the next several days, time permitting; I intend to post as many of these clips in my collection as possible. I'm also extending an invitation to other forum members to contribute any such clips in their possession to either one of threads. Under future consideration may be a complimentary thread for the Image section.

So, without further ado, let's start with the obligatory "Redundant Links" portion, followed by the clips:

Wow Wanto.....Excellent post! Thanks for doing so much work on the Renfaire clips.

one humble question about splits

Now when everyone seems to feel ok with hacha, why does another joining-tool come up?
I try tp avoid starting programs that are unknown to me, in times when viruses, worms and trojans are spying and damaging on an increasing number of computers!
This is not against you, it is a general question.

Why don't you all (!) just use Winace, which is also able to split files. Even WinZip can do it an we ALL have an "unzipper" on our computers.

I don't want to confuse you, but what is a better way to infect computers than spreading programs together with files that people desperately want to see?
Again, I do NOT affect you with this post, but do you know where Join.exe comes from and what it REALLY does on your computer?

I appreciate your concern, MacD. Rest assured, the Join.exe program I use here is not a virus. It is a companion program to HJSplit. You can read about here at http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/. I've used this program, along with HJSplit, on numerous occasions in other posts on this board. Had I went around trying to spread it as a virus, the discussion board's admin /moderators would have banned my account long ago. Hence, you wouldn't see this thread in the first place.

If you are genuinely concerned about this, download and install an effective anti-virus program. Then, scan each attachment for viruses or trojans. AVG Tools is a good choice (http://free.grisoft.com). Personally, I use Norton AV. You use what you like.

As far as why I use it, it's simply a matter of personal preference. HJSplit and Join were the first splitting/joining programs I ever used, and force of habit is a tough thing to break. Besides, it's extremely small and easy to use. Simply extract and double-click. It's a stand-alone program that doesn't install itself on the hard drive, nor does it integrate itself into Window's shell. Other than that, it's simply a matter of brand loyalty (Some people drink Coke, others prefer Pepsi). I'm not trying to force these programs on anyone. Use whatever makes you most comfortable. I just happen to like this one.

If we are done here, on with the show…

well I hope (have to say it again) you know it was not against you or your preferences! I know how to protect myself, but a lot of others don't. So I really appreciate your hints and I hope everyone else checks for a virus scanner too! Please do that!

Personally, I have hacha downloaded once (and checked it of course) and even if I get if as attachment, I do not use it. I'll do the same with join.exe, since no one can be sure to get the same thing each time....
Just as a hint for everyone.
Call me paranoid, everyone out there, but did you know that most spam is sent from hijacked computers whose owners don't know about it? DOS attacks are also started from computers of people thinking "everyone else can be infected, but not me!". Whatever bulls**t can be done without you knowing about it!

Well that's all just to open minds, 'cause I already begun that story ... :)
Merry christmas anyway!

Far from having reservations about viruses or trojans, I've watched the debate over hacha from the safe distance of complete ignorance. Your instructions (which accompany the Renfaire 2002 offering) are the most complete, succinct and helpful I've come across. I have managed, in one simple operation, to successfully use a joining tool. That in itself would have been rewarding, but your work with the Renfaire footage is trully wonderful. I'm indebted to you. Anyone else with reservations about complexity or product, rest assured, this is easy and really well worth it!
Thank you Wanto.
