Miami Heat 2006 NBA Champions

I'm shocked. I really thought that this was the year that Dallas would finally win a championship. The team fought hard to beat San Antonio. The team fought hard to beat Phoenix. After going up 2 games to nothing, I was certain the title was heading for Dallas.

Man, this night sucks. It's times like these that I honestly wish I wasn't a sport fan.



Congradulations to the Miami Heat, and to Shaquille O'Neal who has another ring, and to the unstoppable Dwayne Wade. Enjoy it guys. Hopefully we can see what it feels like someday.

i have the biggest headache in the world........

i cant believe a team full of traitors and assholes won the NBA title. outside of Dwyane Wade, the other players did not deserve a title. think about it. all the "name" players on the Heat stabbed someone in the back somewhere. Alonzo Mourning? he stabbed the Nets and Raptors, who took his ailing self back when the Heat wouldnt. Antoine Walker? there's a reason why he isnt a Celtic anymore. he is "Captain Selfish". Gary Payton? you know his history. Shaq? i could write a novel about what he did to the Laker organization. Pat Riley? ask Stan Van Gundy about "Riles".

what pissed me off was Shaq's comments after the game. Pat Riley is the best coach he's ever had? that's right, forget the fact he made the same comments about Phil a few years ago. Phil got him THREE rings, but Riley is better huh? also, i understand he loves D-Wade, but c'mon, it wasnt like he didnt have a mega star with him in LA.

this whole stupid championship is a big fat slap in the Laker organization's face. Jerry Buss made the right move and catered to Shaq's trade demands, but no one will see that. everybody outside Laker nation will laugh at the Lakers despite the fact that it was painfully obvious that Shaq had as much to do with the breakup as the Lakers did. Kobe, Jerry and the whole Laker organization will be ridiculed because "Fat Man" has another title.

I enjoyed every friggin' minute of it. No one gave Miami a chance. They were supposed to be beaten by the 'supposedly' far superior defensive and overall team in the NBA - the Pistons. They were down 2-0 to the mighty Dallas Mavericks who looked unstoppable and had destroyed Miami the first two games. Then they did the improbable.. Wade was simply unstoppable. Shaq was hitting free throws (yes you read that correctly) and even diving for loose balls on the court. Everyone on the Heat was contributing but yes it was primarily the Dwayne Wade show.

Wade is the best player in the NBA right now. He has the ring to prove it. Everyone will say 'if it wasn't for Wade Miami never would have won." Well duh no joke. My question is this.. you mean to tell me the best teams in the NBA can't stop just one man? When they KNEW who was getting the ball? When they KNEW what he was going to do? Let me answer. No. They didn't and they couldn't. Why? You figure that one out.

Miami had the coach. Miami had the TEAM. Deal with it.

I casually at best followed the finals and I didn't think that the heat stood a chance, especially going down 2 nothing. In the end when it was tied up at 2, I was torn on who to root for. Because I really don't like Shaq or Pat Riley, but I loke Wade. On the other hand, I like Dirk and Avery Johnson, but I hate hate hate Mark Cuban. I guess I would rather see Wade win one, and I get joy in seeing Cuban irate as hell. Congrats to the Heat, and the Mavs for making the finals. Better luck next year I guess.

I agree with you Flock of Seagulls. Granted my Pistons didn't play their best in the postseason, but watching LeBron in the second round and Dwayne in the conf final and then again in the final get all these calls was totally ridiculous. If this is what we have to look forward to for the next 10 years then, god help us.

Watching Gary Payton and Antoine Walker win a ring is sad. If Detroit doesn't win I will be rooting for Dallas from now on.

No chip Gremio, I'm just glad Miami won. Wade, Shaq, Riley and the entire team deserved to win. One man is not going to win a title, no matter who he is. Even Michael Jordan will tell you that. What amazes me is the way the 'media' tried their best to cause a riff in Miami by continually driving the point that it was "Wade's team". Let's get this straight. Shaq does not care who's "team" it is. He simply wants to win the NBA title. If he was selfish, arrogant and 'money hungry' as some would lead you to believe, Miami would have NEVER won a title. (You might want to read that last sentence again). Pat Riley would never have wasted his time. He and Wade would have never gotten along and continually caused problems with the team. Guess what people?? DIDN'T HAPPEN. Why? Because now it's obviously clear to everyone that all Shaq wants to do is win the NBA title. Mission accomplished. Say what you want about Shaq. Call him what you want. Just be sure and include the words "NBA Champion" in the title.

And EVERY sportsbook in the world had Detroit as favorites to win the NBA title, followed by San Antonio. Miami was a "oh yeh them" team. HAHAHA.

I meant Miami was always favoured to win the NBA FINALS. Hey, I've always been a shaq fan, and I like Miami. I wanted Dallas to win, but what can you do?
