We're the artists, you're the audience and I wanna know what the audience wants!

Do you prefer original characters or fan art?
Nudity or clothing?
Playful, sexual or somewhere in the middle?
Realistic or hyper-stylized?

I'm uber-curious about the first one, but I wanna know what you like about TK Art. Thanks. :D

fan-art usually.
As for the style, depends on the theme.
Same with clothing/nudity. I enjoy nudity if it's well portrayed, clothed if it focussses on a single tickletarget such as the feet.
As for the sexual edge, as always depends on the theme. Usually i prefer either evil (torture/interrogation) or sexual (romantic or otherwise).

Here I am.
I like it realistic. Which for example means not this "one eye open one eye closed" style. That is so incredibly unrealistic, no one ever would look like that when he's tickled.
I like it when feet look like feet and not like atomic-incident-grown paddels. Some foot related pictures do.
I like it when not everything does always and everywhere focus on feet only.
I like it when it is not absolutely sex-related.
Oh and I like it when it is more artistic than I could do myself ;-)

Your (Snail Shell) art so far fits pretty well into what I like. Hope you keep on :)

Do you prefer original characters or fan art?

Well, as a fan I have to strongly vote for original characters. Especially those that are used in a continuing fashion. My favorite tickle images are almost always by great artists who've come up with their own ideas. Very rarely do I enjoy a "OMFG :::insert random anime/celebrity character here::: gets tickled by mechanical arms" pic quite as much. Although Fan Art definitely has a place. ^^

Nudity or clothing?

Erotic. Again, just my humble opinion, but I always like the tickling to be erotic. Doesn't have to be nekkid. Doesn't have to be clothed. I think a really skilled artist can deliver a very sexy pic regardless of the state of undress.

Playful, sexual or somewhere in the middle?

My tastes gravitate toward the sexual. But again with a focus on the erotic. In other words, the tickling doesn't have to imply more sexual contact beyond the act of tickles. But if the tickles themselves have a hint of arousal to them then that works for my little chick pea sized brain.

Realistic or hyper-stylized?

Skillful. Some of the best artists to ever grace our little community have been incredibly realistic. Some have been very cartoony, and some have been somewhere in between. I guess it doesn't need to look real as long as the artist can make me want to believe in it anyway. A little cryptic and rhapsodic...but there ya go.

But I am just one of many many fans.

^^;;;

I have a pretty good list of original characters, like those featured in my debut comic. These are a composite of real people, ideal personalities and influenced by other existing fictional characters. This creates fan interest and adds more to your style of artwork. Each character has their own features...most of them are ticklish, though!

Sex sells. So nudity is very popular which adds to the sexual and erotic of the feature. Sometimes, I find damsels in clothing very alluring as well. When they're barefoot in jeans, that's always a winner.

"Tickled in Distress" is very sexual. You may see no intercourse, but the talk suggests oral sex in the hot tickling scene between Valkrex and Heather. This also generates revenue. Adult entertainment is recession proof.

In contrast to realism, TID's 3D imagery may be realistic, but it is definitely a fictional action-adventure that accommodates the two tickling scenes.

BRING ME PETER PAN! XD

But ok then, let's see...

1. Fan art. The problem with OCs is that they rarely have any established character. In this case it's usually just "Ok, here's my OC. She doesn't really have much of a personality or a backstory or anything and she exist solely to be tickled", or something similar. With fan art it's characters that have already been established as such. There are some instances where OCs can be interesting, provided that the person is willing to put time into such, but they rarely are, so yeah.

2. Either really, or both. They each fit a different scenario. Obviously clothing fits with a more casual environment, and really, why would someone strip someone else naked just to give them a tickle? On the other hand, nudity adds a lot to sexuality, which in turn sets the scene for erotica. So all in all I don't really prefer one to another.

3. Like #2, either/or, depending on the scenario.

4. Style-ized. There's so much more that can be done with it, and realistic, while certainly capable of being decent, has one fatal flaw: it doesn't look real. It can mimic reality, but it isn't, and will not fully replicate that, leaving it with a stylishness of it's own. But then I'm not entirely sure exactly how you mean so excuse me if I'm incorrect.

Fan art. I love fan art.
Everything else I can really go any way on and leave it up to the case-by-case basis.
Though for the last one I'd rather have stylized than realistic. But not completely outrageous, if you see what I'm saying.

I'm extremely picky about anime so fan art doesn't do much for me because unless it's as wacky and fucked up as the anime I like (FLCL, Excel Saga) then I'm not too interested.

Sex and nudity is cool as long as the tickling and scenario are equally interesting. One thing I can't stand is the straight-up naked-chick-getting-tickled-and-vibed and that's all it is: a naked chick getting tickled-and-vibed...no aesthetic, no creativity, no style, just tickling art brut. Put some effort into concocting the scenario and the nudity so it's not derivative.

And on the nudity also mix it up. Clothing can be as sexy as nudity, but you gotta have some variation, mixing up. Partial nudity is usually best, but you have to pick the anatomy based on the scene...in those cases wherever the focus of the tickling, is clothing on the opposite anatomy acts as an eccentuator in my opinion.

Oh...and regardless of what direction you pick, here's something sadly lacking in lots of tickling and erotic art in particular: ABSURDISM! MORE ABSURDISM! RIDICULOUS JUXTAPOSITIONS! And all that rot.

Deet, your 'chick pea sized brain' is like the PS3's multi core processor, despite the small appearance, it has enough computing power to equal 5 computers, you modest evil genius you.

Good fan art is good, some of the best fan art i've seen has been done with a clear amount of thought put behind it. That means the artist took the time to look into the personality of the person they're trying to depict and did not just draw what is known as a 'Mary Jane' a generic character with accessories making the viewer know who the character is.

The human body is a thing of beauty, but many times to just show the naked body flat out doesn't make for the most interesting piece for me if it's not in the right context. Clothing can be sexy too, and just like a strip tease is sexy, some of the best pieces i've seen had partial or implied nudity.

I don't do blatant sexuality in my work, but the erotic feel is there. People interpret a piece in different ways, and there are key details in a piece that can guide the audience toward the desired feeling, facial expressions, frazzled hair, where clothing is ect.

I have a background grounded in studio art, i started off with doing charcoal portraits and moved up to figure drawing when i started taking life drawing and painting. I prefer a more realistic style that's true to the proportions of the real world. My style at the moment reflects that but i still try to remind the viewer that it's still a cartoon by keeping the outline in and the colors very saturated. I'm more worried about making the piece look believable if anything.

All of the above, to be honest. If the art is well done, it really doesn't matter to me who specifically the characters are, what they're wearing, or any of that. I think the best you can hope for is a nice mix. Not all in the same picture, but switch your style up from pic to pic and experiment. You don't want to get stuck in a rut of producing the same picture with slightly different characters every time, that just becomes dull after a while.

Uh, lessee...
Fan art.
Clothing.
Somewhere in the middle.
Realistic.

How's that?:wavingguy

In general, the first question depends on the character. If I like the way the character looks, I will like the picture, regardless of who that character is. Fan art would not exist if nobody ever came up with characters anyway, and some of our local heroes are member created.
Characters like Teeva, The Bounce Chicks, Ilohnoh's Jen, Stipplewitz, Dr. soles and crew, the ladies of VU and Yenny, to me, have become as iconic as the most popular mainstream characters out there. (and that's just to name a small handful of enthusiast-created content.)
To me, it's more about the artist's mind then the picture's focus.
I know that answer wasn't really a yay or nay, I'll sum up by giving my vote to OC's, although if it's art, I'll be checking it out and enjoying it no matter what.
(I ramble...this is why I post so rarely, If I did all the time I would have no time for anything else. ;P) Like everyone though, there are certain mainstream characters I have a weakness for, so if I see a pic with one of those ladies in it, I'm very likely to be pleased.

Nudity? Yes please!
It doesn't have to have it. Especially with fan art. Some of my favorite pictures depict the victims fully clothed. In general, I really don't care either way, again, it's about the artist and his/her depiction and the spirit of the image. But this is sexually-related content. It's a fetish forum. I understand that excessive nudity can be viewed as tasteless or it can be mishandled, but as long as the artist does it with skill and class I will never complain about exposed flesh. :D

As far as the mood is concerned, I tend to gravitate toward themes of interrogation/torture/sexual arousal. As long as the scenario has a light-hearted feel, I'm sold. I feel it's important not to take things too seriously around here, after all, no matter the situation, tickling, at it's core, is funny.

Finally, realistic or not, an artist with a definitive style is good. I really don't even know what the difference is between realistic and hyper-stylized when it comes to art. The things one draws should look like they look in real life sure, but it's always a representation, a translation. How you choose to depict that thing is always dependent on style, whether it is "realistic" or not.

Anyways, that's it for me!

I'm an artist and an... er... audience too so here's my answers.

Do you prefer original characters or fan art?
Always original characters - unless someone would so so so kindly draw Princess Jasmine from Aladdin in a ticklish predicament.

Nudity or clothing?
Both, but scantily clad for Jasmine.

Playful, sexual or somewhere in the middle?
Sexual, especially with Jasmine.

Realistic or hyper-stylized?
Realistic

best wishes

R

1: Either is good for me, as long as it's /F.
2: Same as question one.
3: All three
4: I'm not particular

What can I say? I'm not picky.

Nudity or clothing?
I prefer clothed or mild nudity but not the full monty.
Playful, sexual or somewhere in the middle?

Thanks for asking! Speaking strictly for the moonknight...

Fan Art (/F characters)

Clothing (at least the bikini area should be covered)

Playful (or somewhere in the middle...not into porno type stuff)

That's a tough one. Mandell's stuff is realistic and TomatoDragon's stuff is stylized and they're both fantastic. The only thing that falls outside the realm of my taste as far as "stylized" stuff goes is the stuff that looks as a kid drew it.

I prefer original characters, or adult toons (like Batgirl etc)
Prefer some clothing to nudity
Prefer sexual to just playful
Realistic- however, some exaggerated stylings can better show the incredible sensations and emotions the "victim" is feeling

I wanna see more Medieval-style "torture" scenes, or diabolical devices!!! I can't seem to capture the "agony" of the ticklee in my own scribbles
