What did you guys do for tickling content back in the 1960s until the age of the internet?

I tickled women. You know, actual people.

Meant helpfully--you may need to ask people in their 70's. I'm 48 and was born in 1966, so the 60's are kind of a blur for me. Maybe you mean what did we do in the 80's?

same for me

Let's see.... in 1960, I was 5 and would tickle my best friend any chance I could because he was the only one I could. By the end of the 60's, I had reached puberty and discovered that females were what I wanted to tickle. There was nothing "on demand" to satisfy your tickling urges so you hoped that you might see something on TV or had a chance to actually tickle someone. It wasn't until articles began to appear in dirty magazines that you could find anything "off the shelf".

Agree with robmic - for most of us it was a pretty barren landscape. Started seeing some "letters" dealing with tickling in Penthouse in the mid 70's, but nothing else.

I can't recall much tickling content until about the mid-80s, with mentions in bondage mags, "underground" hobbyists, or the rare occurrences that rdhd mentioned.. The late 80s seems to be about the time a few devoted mags started popping up, then a few VHS offerings, but a reliable supply of tickling content didn't seem to surface until the mid 90s. The chronology might be a little off, as time and regional availability play roles. Basically, there was little around until the mid-90s.

Nyuk nyuk nyuk nyuk nyuk. Best answer on here. I'm glad it came up first. People had to deal with each other before the Age of Electronic Distraction.

I used to look at the models in the department store catalogs and fantasize about tickling them. JCPenney was my favorite because they actually showed feet in the shoes in the shoe section. Once I hit high school in the mid 70s, I started tickling my female classmates. I didn't see my first actual tickling article until I ran across a copy of Fetish Times in the early 80s. From that point on, I found the occasional letter in Penthouse and Penthouse Variations, and Leg Show. That was it until the internet and the old alt.sex.tickling news groups came along.

That too! I got a lot of reading from alt.sex.tickling! I think it was actually alt.sex.fetish.tickling though. Some great stories on there!

The catalogs were very helpful material for me, too . . . especially since (in those days) most of the modeling was done in nylons. Straight porn never has done it for me.

Scenes from TV and film had to be clipped and saved in my memory. Scenes like Jo Ann Pflug stocking-foot tickled in Candid Camera and Lucille Ball tickled in The Handcuffs episode of I Love Lucy are wonderful to think about even today.

During the 1960's, I was 10 to 19 years old.
Ages 10 to 14: Mostly I looked at bikini/women's underwear ads in magazines to see barefoot women.
Ages 15 to 19: I tickled the feet of most of the girls with whom I went out, with mixed results. At 18, I searched adult book stores for tickling and/or erotic foot material, mostly in vain.

If you had the $$ and could dodge the law then art, drawings, B&W silent films and stories were available, premade or custom created. Photos that weren't widely or legally available were pretty much Irvin Klaw's stock in trade back then and there were lots more "lesser knowns" like him who must have churned out such material. Call girls and boys have been around forever. There were the occasional movie scenes. A Man With A Maid was written in the 1800s and had lots of eroticized non-con tickling, bondage, (underage) incest and rape.

Perverts and their outlest have always been around, just not readily accessible.

As a kid in the sixties, I remember actively thumbing through the seemingly endless number of store/fashion catalogs delivered to our house. Long before my teen years, I was mesmerized by the “older” model’s beautiful feet.

Does anyone remember the girls in school wearing "clogs", usually with stockings? If possible, I always positioned myself at a desk behind a girl with an unobstructed view to her feet, which inevitably slid in and out of the clogs, driving me nuts. Distracted learning at its best.

In the early seventies, with access to friend’s older brother’s Penthouse stash, I feverishly searched the “Letters to Penthouse”, and while infrequent, tickling stories did appear, along with entries from Madam Xavier Hollander, who also revealed being extremely ticklish.

From that point, my girlfriend(s) were involved and we would look for stories in Variations, having an entire section devoted to tickling only once a year or so. That lasted through most of the Eighties, until ads for tickling specific material began to show up in the mags. I still can’t believe how much I paid for those early VHS tapes, with a 99% disappointment factor!

In 1979 at the age of 19 I ran across a magazine called Fetish times with people advertising the sale of pictures of pretty female feet and a fellow named Tobias Hackner who sold drawings and stories on tickling. I was single and had a decent job so I ended up spending a lot of money. Basically I was spending a lot of money on a few good stories and a few good drawings otherwise it was a ripoff. Thre was one artist who wasn't that good but he captured the scene and dialogue his name was Boyer. It wasn't until the late 80s early 90s that I started purchasing videos on tickling that were of quality such as Solefully yours and then tickling paradise. I also would venture into massage parlors in hopes to meet a ticklish girl with ticklish feet. I spent a lot of money all those years and regret it looking back but it was sort of my addiction.

In the early 80's I also purchased pictures from a couple of girls that "tied and tickled each other". I almost convinced the "cute" one to come out to Ca. and visit me! Close, but no cigar!

Just doing a little math here. A guy in his 50s in 2015 would have been in his single digits in 1965. You sure you want to stick with that story Casanova?

Yeah, I do.

Let's not forget mainstream. There was OK - and now and then really good - stuff in cartoons and comedies if you came across it. (Not, of course, like the cornucopia we have now.)

I am 54 so in the 60's, I was still playing in the dirt with my matchbox cars. However, in the 70's I started looking at beauty and fashion magazines. Especially Teen & Vogue. There was always a flurry of pretty bare feet all thru those pages. In the 80's, I made a mad dash to pick up Leg Show magazine every month. And later, found tickling and foot fetish magazines, underground newspapers like Fetish Times and Corporal and you could rent a Cal-Star tickling video AND a VCR from the porn shop too! Boy, those were the good ol' days!

Back in the 60s I was in grade school. I actually discovered tickling erotica in the mid 70s, first through the occasional story in romance magazines and later through Penthouse Forum.

In high school and college, I'd check out women's magazines in the school libraries, hoping to find pics of barefoot women. When I found some early tickling VHS videos in the very early '90s, I actually used the college library VCR to watch some vids, until I was tossed out. I mean hey --- Student Fetish Tickling Videos, women were bikini-clad, not nude, no sexual acts. Such prudes. The most thuggish thing I did was lift a copy of William Rossi's "Sex Life of the Foot and Shoe." Nice book on psychological and social history of foot fetishism. The best case I recall was a suburban housewife who used a vacuum to suction her soles and toes to orgasm.

I came of age in the late 1970s -1980s.

Up until age 23 or so, it was mail order catalogs like several others mentioned here. I really liked the comment by "Fat Bastard" about the girls in school wearing those brown clogs. I remember them too!

It was around 1990 that I started to visit XXX video stores in mid-town Manhattan and I saw Cal-Star videos and the magazines with stills for the first time. The Internet followed a few years later.
