Rock Stars Make Better Ticklers Than Poets

Before we start I’d like to say I’ve got nothing against poets (I just think they’re a bit girly). Everybody here understands the link between power and tickling. Just take a look at these classic scenarios, teacher tickles unruly pupil, mistress tickles lazy maid, naughty nurse tickles unlucky patient. Before any of you run off to find pictures, stick with me I do have a point. Everybody enjoys being tickled under the right circumstances and this has a great deal to do with power.

First we must look at the “Yuck!” phenomenon. We’ve all been in the situation where somebody tickles us and we go “Yuck!” it just feels weird and creepy. For me it’s usually when another man tries to tickle me. On the other hand there are times when I don’t mind or even do it back. If I’m having a laugh at work and one of my bosses’ clamps a hand round my knee I’ll give him a friendly jab in the arm. But if one of the office hangers-on tried the same I’d shove away his hand and ask him what the hell he was doing! What’s the Difference… Social Value!!!

Now for the science bit. Charles Darwin always believed tickling was a way of humans asserting dominance in a group. In other words people could work out where they stood without getting their heads bashed in. If the dominant male decided it was your day to be tickled you had to submit and spell it out LOUD and CLEAR! Failure to do so could mean a rock around the head. Good tickle stories always try to introduce an element of danger and anticipation maybe this is where it comes from? This is why women don’t laugh so much when tickled by an average Joe. But if confronted by the right person we’ll go wild trying to show our compliance. We’ve all seen it happen.

Back to today and not much has changed. Sometimes we get that “Yuck!” feeling and other times we get the “Oh Shit!” feeling. But how do we cut out the Yuck! and get more Shit? Easy, you’ve got to be a big, bad Alfa male. Rock stars are just one example of modern Alfa’s. Women feel comfortable around them and they have tons of social value which is very important.

The reason tickling is so popular is because sometimes women enjoy the idea of submitting to those big Alfa males they see worthy. Think about Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell for example. On the other hand men love the idea of being the big Alfa male tickling his harem of females, it’s just natural (but that’s different post).

Tickling is tickling and I know there are many other factors to consider, but I think this covers two of the main ones, sexuality and comfort. So next time you’re sliding the socks away from that naughty schoolgirl or you find yourself looking up at a Police Officer twizzling a tickly, tickly feather ask yourself… “Who’s Alfa here?”

What do you think?

Alpha. Seems to me like you're more concerned with males remaining dominant than anything else. Just my two coins.

But how do we cut out the Yuck! and get more Shit?
By taping the mouth shut and giving an enema. Or reproducing this piece on every website on the internet. Of course, I do see a lot of your points, and I do see that they tend to be flawed. Much of what you are writing is indeed, as Spud Mobile has pointed out, based around male dominance, and a number of your points are not correct, such as:

Incorrect, that is a generalization, not all women feel that way.
But what really bugs me is thatyou made a very faded allusion to rock stars and poets. Only showing that people enjoy power. Also, rock stars have a lot of social value, but I wouldn't say tons. Of course, their social values tend to lie in the areas of their own listeners.

I was waiting to read your comment and you didn't disappoint.

Also, I know some folks who are in bands and wouldn't the songs they write be considered poetry of some kind. A lot of rock stars write ballads that sound very poetic so I think this is a bad example and bad taste.

Thank you.

I was hoping you'd point that out. Score! :D

That's true, very true.

Oh, two other points on this argument while I am posting, how does this actually have to do with tickling other than comfort? Tickling itself is the movement of the fingers according to different pressure levels upon different points on the body. The act itself is not discussed very well in your essay, whereas the personal perceptions are; power positions for example. But that isn't telling how Rock Stars can move their fingers on a person's body better than a poet. And some poetry is in fact, quite more brutal than rock music, depending on what you read.

Second point, Alfa? or Alpha? I was really wondering about that since I first read this, and hoped anyone else would find that out of the ordinary. Good Morning! :)

For the record, I did point that out in my comment. It punched that same button in my brain that reacts with horror when I see "their" and "they're" mixed-up.

Agreed.

And here we thought you were gracing us with your philosophic, scientific, and neurotic writings John Locke....

Yes, John Locke indeed. I must wonder though, who is his Anthony Ashley Cooper?

Lol, another thought i had was, the majority of tickle vids ive seen, the best laughing responces seem to be from F/F vids, and pretty much everybody ive tickled has said "it works better if youre gentle"
Therefor, surely a 'girly' poet would make a better tickler with their gentle touch, than an 'alpha male' rock star, who would probably just end up starting to rub/hurt the ticklee by being too rough?

In order to not repeat all the above-mentioned, let me state just a few more things: not necessarily are all poets girly or something like that. I write (well, true, it's not poetry, but it's still writing), and my friend plays in a rock band. And he's scared of me, saying how he'd never want to see me angry, because this writer has been through a lot of fights in the street, and has studied martial arts since childhood. Therefore, it's very individual (for example, Stalone, your regular macho, does painting), and art doesn't make anyone 'girly'... if anything, it makes you more creative, and creative thinking is what tickling is all about, not power and domination. Sure, there are vids and pics of hard bondages, punishments and such, but that's just porn of some sort, nothing to do with real life. That's the same as picking up hit-ons from a porno-movie and using them in real life. Try it, and you'll probably get smacked and slapped.
So no, tickling isn't all about power... it's about skill and a right atmosphere. Especially if you plan on doing the tickling with your gf, as a tickle-session... it's not about dominance, it's about pleasing your partner, making her feel as if she wants it, and then using your skillful fingers to light the fires inside her, to help her reach that ultimate pleasure she wants... and for both of you to have a good time.
