Hello there there dear reader of this thread! If you're reading this then you're probably wondering what this guy's up to, and why's he doing it? I'll answer that question by saying that I haven't seen a music thread that's up and kicking, so I decided to make it so there would be a place where people could share what kind of music they liked. But there's a catch. For every post you make in this thread, you have to include a song of the current letter of the alphabet. We go from A to Z, and then repeat. Now why am I doing this? Well, like I said before I want to see what kind of music people like, while making a game out of it to liven things up around here and finding new and interesting songs to listen to.

But anyway, since I started this thread I suppose I'll start with a song that starts with A.

This is a really cool thread! A really awesome idea. I wanna play too!

And with "B" falling to me, my knee-jerk response would be to go with "Best of My Love" by my all-time favorite band, The Eagles, but, with so many other incredibly great tunes to select from (part of my more whimsical side wanted to go with "(The) Banana Boat Song" here, I must admit), I'm going to lean toward the romantic and sentimental a bit, offering up an incredibly powerful and catchy duet by Patti Austin and James Ingram, "Baby, Come to Me." :)

Frank Zappa - Dinah Moe Humm. Most people think of it as a blue novelty tune, which it kinda is. But listen closely and you'll hear some top-shelf playing and some pretty adept word-play. This is not your typical party record! Oh, and that's the Ikettes, Ike & Tina Turner's backup vocalists in the background ("Whaddaya mean, cooties!?!")

G - Go K.K. Rider! From a video game of "Animal Crossing"

Well well, this is a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect that many replies from such a short time. XD But moving on to the game... I'd put in Having a wonderful time by Tiny Tim. :U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giVhLypWBqI This here be the song, and again... Glad you guys like the thread. Keep it going strong! :lol

Thanks again for the cool thread, man ;^)

We'll go away from mainstream rock and more conventional radio plays here with me taking on the letter "I"...and I'll even supply a youtube link this time to better play along! Because, as we all know all too well, SOMETIMES in life "instead of treats we get tricks, instead of kisses we get kicks"...because "It's a Hard-Knock Life (For Us)"! Big props to everyone's favorite orphan! ;)

We going for just ANY music here or strictly proper songs then?

I'll go 2 just in case. The first thing for J that popped into my mind was a (remix/cover of a) tune from Final Fantasy 7 that is overshadowed by... well, everything from FF7 is overshadowed by One Winged Angel it seems. The tune in question is J-E-N-O-V-A, expertly done by The Black Mages http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay1-ra1A3PA

*Searches through his WMP library* Good lord, J is a horrible letter. Ahem, well in either case, I'll do one that's probably more likely to be known than any of the other songs in this awful list, both the original http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ020f94kj4&feature=related and the remix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSHdV5-9jic&feature=related - The song is Just Close Your Eyes, the original by Waterproof Blonde and the remix by Story of the Year, both versions better known as the old and new, respectively, entrance themes of WWE superstar Christian Cage (or just Christian).

Watch me get a little tricky here, gang...

...whilst I begin my next song selection with the proper letter of the alphabet, but ALSO END the title with the letter that began the previous song title! Confused? Well, I am :lol ...but if you don't like this dude, you just don't understand music: Bob Seger, "Like a Rock." 'nuff said. ;)

Let's see. First I get J, now I get O. The one to assume that because I posted J-E-N-O-V-A that I'd post One Winged Angel is a fool indeed :p

Instead, I'll do another 2 songs, this time because the first is too short :(

From popular freeware-turned-Wii game, we have Oppression http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvqAaHU8heE from Cave Story, by Studio Pixel. One of the best and most intense tracks on a marvelous soundtrack. I wholeheartedly urge any gaming fan to play it at least twice so you can figure out how to access the true final boss the second run through.

The second, if you're a puro (Japanese wrestling) fan like I am (I'd be surprised to find any wrestling fans anywhere here), you'll recognize as one of the best and well-known themes of puro legend Keiji Mutoh. From the archive of music done by Japanese wrestling promotion New Japan Pro Wrestling, this is Outbreak http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aZ0NLTV1bk

Don't mind if I take an easy letter here, gang...

...I mean, gosh, "R"? How many song titles begin with the word "Rock," after all, or some form of the most definitive word to describe popular mainstream music? And, while I rooted through very worthy possibilities like "Rock On," "Rockin' Into the Night," "Rock This Town," or even, for those who enjoy the sublime, "Rock Me Amadeus," ("Kick ass, Falco!") I thought, heck, why not offer up a tune that pays such faithful tribute to essentially the entire genre? Gals 'n gents, I give you John Cougar Mellencamp...unless he was John Mellencamp then...or just John Cougar...aw, heck, here's "R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A."! :)

P damn i thought someone did P already..i swear my mind is going..so here's a P for you...

Def Leopard "Photograph" i now return you to the next letter..which is U..

I'll continue my trend of giving 2 songs per post. I have so much to give. So many songs.

As I was saying in this post before I saw that V just barely escaped my grasp, the first song is a powerful one by German power metal band Chinchilla. One of my personal favorites, I dunno, something about it's moved me nearly to tears on numerous occasions. The song is Where the Brave Belong http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDNFOkpGU2k

And speaking of things that move me to tears... ahem, how appropriate. Whatever, by Our Lady Peace http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uSTTdjEPe8
