when the MTP party was held in the house of the hosts while I lived there I had...a couple of pairs of underwear stolen by attendees!

Now that is just wrong. You invite people over out of the goodness of your hearts, and this is what happens. Stealing Kitten's perfume and slippers is sinking pretty low, but stealing her underwear?! That's downright <em>subterranean</em>!

But it does explain the ad I saw in EBay shortly after that gathering.

I find that hard to believe esp knowing the host. If you had informed the host of your said missing items they would of made sure to question everyone and locate your items. It is in the rules that anyone cought stealing will be dealt with severly. They will not put up with anyone doing what you claime happend. They are reptuable people and do everything to ensure the safety and comfort of the guest and the attendees are honorbale people as well. There were things lost by others this gathering and everyone stopped what they were doing to help find the missing items-which were found. It is not just random people coming together but freinds coming together who watch eachother's back. The Host have been doing the Michigan party for many years and there reputation alone is what brings people back and newbees every year for everyone knows it is a SAFE and well organized weekend full of fun with out fear of anything. They go out of there way to make if a fun filled weekend for everyone and have many safety precautions and many moderatiors inplace to ensure all the rules are followed for the safety of everyone.

i could not agree more i have been to MTP 3 times now and i will always go back cause there host are the greatest and do everything to make sure we are fed have a great time and solve problems ASAP if any arise. never had a problem at the MTP gatherings and the little thing that have happened were handled in a great way and i would always go back to see my friends along with my brother natural.

I'm SOOOOOO happy you found your rings! That would have been terrible if they had gone the way of my belongings!!!!

Ticklkitten,are you sure these items were stolen? Or were they thrown out by YOU as you seem to have a habit of throwing your trash out in the street for all to see! If you have issues with specific people, perhaps they`d be better addressed in private... If your issue is with Gatherings in general,maybe you could originate your own thread explaining WHY you are so down on them. In any event,your last few posts have been nothing short of mean-spirited,serving no other purpose but to stir up trouble.Here`s hoping you`ll now return to the dumpster you crawled out of!

For those of you at MTP who were on the porch discussing why people (specifically women) don`t like to attend Gatherings,I think we have our answer now.Who wants to subject themselves to shenanigans like this? Can you blame people for not attending?One naughty kitten can indeed spoil the entire litter!

By the way,I MUST agree with DimpleToes,and all of the other wonderful people that I was fortunate to meet.TF4F and Sadira are wonderful,caring hosts who are not about to let anything spoil their events. They go wayyyy above and beyond to put on a first rate Gathering,and make sure that EVERYONE ,including us first-timers, have a FANTASTIC time and are made to feel welcome! I honestly think you`d be hard pressed to find a more fun-loving ,caring bunch of people to hang out with. If you have ever considered going to a Gathering,I HIGHLY recommend MTP.I know you will have a great time! Don`t let one trouble-maker who WAS NOT IN ATTENDANCE influence your decision!

Thanks for saying all that kilitiinko. I didn't want to speak out of turn or step on anyones toes. I did send a PM about her post from my own thread I started about my experience attending my first gathering, just to basically be told to mind my own business?!?
But anyway, I do remember well the conversation on the porch and I think you hit the nail on the head. Oh well, what can you do?

Thank you sandrock and Kili for backing me up and MTP. I am still upset and disapointed that someone who was not in attendance at MTP this year would say such mean things. But you both hit it on the head. Our host do go out of there way to ensure the safety of EVERYONE and that includes there belongings and for someone to post such vile things just out of spite from a personal gaine to darken gatherings saddens me.

Ah yes, Dimpletoes, I was wondering when you'd drop your two cents after a summer of chatting with my roommate and best friend.

Anyhow, YES, those items were stolen. But it has nothing to do with the location of the gathering OR the hosts. It's just the fact that in every fantastic bunch of grapes there is bound to be a sour one. You know the articles that show up in newspapers that make us all sound so horrid? Those people exist. They are at every gathering unfortunately. It's the good grapes that make the event so worthwhile.

I think it's kind of sad that such events have happened and that I'm so down on gatherings. I'm glad that there are so many that can enjoy them. But reality is reality.

It was a big house and my items were either left out on the bathroom counter or within easy access as my bedroom was used as a playroom.

So to inform all of you... my belongings that were missing occured a couple of years ago... I lived at the home where the gatherings occured.

But it's not as if I threw my slippers in the street.

Take it as you will.

I am EXTREEMLY glad to hear you found it!!! Just an FYI though insurance on a ring set isn't expensive at all. Chances are what ever company you go through for auto or homeowners insurance can give you a quote and add it onto your bill. I only think it runs like a few dollars a month. I know it won't replace them if lost, but at least you wont be out of the money spent on them.
