I think this thread will be very usefull to the community,
and maybe could be placed as "Sticky Thread".

No clips in this thread, by the way, but usefull tools for :

MPEG Movie Joiner

My boyfriend has done a little program able to join MPG files into a new MPEG file, so, i'm uploading it there

After having downloaded the attached file, rename the .TXT extension to .BAT extension to turn it executable (only in Microsoft systems).

Then, this program has to be placed in the folder that contain your MPG files to join together (alphabetically). Here's an example :
You have these MPG clips in your folder that you wish to join
(make sure the extension is MPG and not MPEG), and this program :

MPEG Movie Joiner.bat
Part1.mpg
Part2.mpg
Part3.mpg
Part4.mpg
Part5.mpg

You just have to double-click on the .BAT file
and a new MPEG file called "Movie.MPEG" will appearing
(you just have to close the window asking which program
you wish to use for opening the new MPEG file,
it will using your default application that opens it normaly).
When it's done, you're free to rename the file "Movie.MPEG" as you wish
(by keeping MPEG or MPG as extension, of course).

This program includes a little help (in english) written by my boyfriend,
but if you have any questions about how to use it,
let ask me by answering to this thread.

Of course, this little program is totally freeware

Video Conversion

I'm able to convert videos into another formats ;
if you are interrested, just send me the link to the original video
(on RapidShare or MegaUpload) by indicating the requested format
and i'll sending in return the same video converted in requested format.

Input formats able to be converted :
- MPEG
- MPEG 2
- WMV (Windows Media Video)
- AVI
- RM (Real Media)
- ASF
- FLV (Flash Video)

Output formats available for request :
- MPEG
- MPEG 2
- WMV (Windows Media Video)
- AVI
- RM (Real Media)

About video formats :
* MPEG : Standard video format, compressed but good quality, medium file size
* MPEG 2 : More compressed than standard MPEG format, similar quality and lower file size (MPEG 2 video format is similar to DVD video quality)
* WMV : Standard Windows video format, compressed but less good quality than MPEG format, lower file size than MPEG - WMV format is hardly viewable on Linux system (more interresting for Windows system users)
* AVI : Standard video format, not compressed and best quality but huge file size
* RM : Standard Web video format, highly compressed for easy streaming but low quality, low file size however - It needs Real Player or a compatible Real Media videos player
* ASF : Standard cam video format, highly compressed for low file size, but low quality - It may works on usual video players, but sometimes, this video format is only able to view from start to end, without being able to access directly to the middle of the video.
* FLV : Flash video format, well known by YouTube and Google Video users, usualy compressed and bad quality but low file size, it needs a Flash Video player as "FLV Player", "Wimpy FLV Player" or "Riva FLV Player" to can watch this video format

Codecs...

Due to the different troubles with codecs, i've packaged several useful codecs than aren't available in an easy way (you must to look for them hardest), so that you'll can to get them with a download, after you'll install them. These codecs are for Win XP (32 bits) and WMP 9 Series. I hope that this one will be useful for most of you. Here's the link Codecs.zip.

PS: If Val or another admin/moderator consider correct to move this thread into sticky's zone (on Video clip corner and The Splits), would be perfect in my opinion.

this is a software you can edit your favorite vidoe clips. it include lots of functions such as cut the vidoe parts those you don't want them, convert the vidoe file to almost all other format so you can play with the vidoe player you most like. I convert the software as greenware version, so you don't need install it. just unzip it into any where you want (even in your flash disk, cool!), then you just (click on "Ultra Video Splitter.exe" file) enjoy it.
